You should take my advice
She's the best that you′ve had
You get violently mad
And I can't sit and watch you fade away now
I won't die for you
No way now
Cause the sun will come through
It was hard coming down
Left you feeling like a clown
It was fun for a while
Now you′re wearing that smile
And I can′t sit and watch you fade away now
I won't die for you
No way now
Cause the sun will come through
Anyday now, anyday
And I can′t sit and watch you fade away now
I won't die for you
No way now
Cause the sun will come through
Anyday now
I won′t die for you
No way now
Cause the sun will come through
Anyday now
Anyday.
In "Anyday Now" by The Killjoys, the lyrics detail a struggle between the singer and a friend who is in an unhealthy, potentially abusive relationship. Having been through this before and recognizing the signs, the singer advises their friend to move on before it's too late. The repeated theme of "she's the best that you've had" implies that there's been a cycle of failed relationships and this one seems too good to let go of. However, this apparent bliss is overshadowed by the anger and frustration that is bubbling beneath the surface, and the singer is worried about what will happen when this reaches a boiling point.
The tone of the song is one of concern and urgency, as they plead with their friend to not let this cycle repeat again. The line "I won't die for you, no way now" indicates that the singer is drawing a line in the sand and won't be dragged down with their friend if things go awry. However, they still hold hope that things can improve, hence the repeated refrain of "the sun will come through anyday now". The song is a cautionary tale about recognizing toxic patterns in relationships and the importance of standing up for oneself and those we care about.

Between the passion and the pain
I said my love could never wane
which methods do forsake the blues
the ones who have the right to choose
