I will always love this game and it hold a special place in my heart! Here's why:

3 Years ago I had my appendix removed ( I was 22 at the time) and was allowed to stay home from school and work for A WHOLE WEEK! The day before my surgery I had bought this game and played it while I was on sick leave.

Well as it turns out my 91 year old grandma took care of me the whole week and watched me play Skyward Sword and followed along on the adventure with me. Everyday she would ask me, "what happens to that girl? Are you going to rescue her?" and I would play the game as she watched. She was there when I defeated Demise.

Well anyway, that was the last time I spent a whole week home with my Grandma with no adult responsibilities. When else will I get that chance again before she passes away? Probably never. So I have to thank my appendix and Skyward Sword for some very special memories I will always treasure.

What an adventure life is! The Legend of Zelda is a part of it. Whenever I feel down I think of Link and find the courage to keep fighting the good fight.

You know what's funny? Every time a new Zelda game comes out it is hated by the general public until the next one comes out..before Skyward Sword came out everyone despised Twilight Princess, just like with Wind Waker...before twilight princess came along everyone hated wind waker....idk why this is but its a vicious cycle...I for one love all the 3D zelda games and I haven't been overtly disappointed in any of them. Also when people tell me why they don't like Skyward Sword they come of as nit picky complainers giving me reasons that are all very minor and are easily forgotten once you really get inthralled in the story and unique gameplay...the only problem I have with it is that it doesn't have enough adventure and that's what I want in a Zelda game. But anyway as a Zelda fan and a gamer In general I can't say I don't love any of the Zelda games because they have that charm that you can only find in a Zelda game. Rant over.

I don't care what other people say; I loved this game. It was my first Zelda game that I played all the way through, so I was able to play it with an open mind seeing it for what it is rather than how it compares to other Zelda games. And I really love it. Also, I was laughing and saying "So true" through this whole video because I remember all the stuff he was talking about.

This game came out during perhaps the most special part of my life. I was 11 at the time, and my love for video games (Nintendo and Zelda in particular) was really starting to blossom. There was also the transition from kid to teenager, and I don't know quite what it was, but I look back at that time playing Skyward Sword with huge amounts of fondness.

P.S. Skyward Sword was also the first game to make cry. Twice actually, when Zelda sealed herself away, and when Fi left. God I love this game.

I've never liked SS, simply because it's soooooo repetitive. Just... repeatedly going to the same three places again, and again, and again... there's a lot less variety then most Zelda games.
The motion controls were fun though.

For some reason, I really loved when Link was searching for his Loftwing and when he got to the entrance to the waterfall cave, he could SENSE where the bird was and that was in danger. I'll never truly understand why I love it so much.

This game was phenomenal, and it had SOO many good aspects to it. There was one minor complaint that I have, but The rest of it was freaking amazing. My one small complaint stands thus: The shield bar. The fact that your shields could break just really annoyed me. Other than that, however, it was such an outstanding game.

I thought Link moved slow because he was lugging around the Master Sword and his Hylian Shield. You even get a sound effect for the clanking in Majora's Mask.

As someone who got the HD version for Christmas, this game still holds up after a decade. I've never had so much fun with a Zelda game except Botw. This game really set up some of the foundation for Botws mechanics and takes bits from the windwaker i enjoyed. The flying isn't as complex as windwakers sailing but I think its done very well. The game has took critics from the older zelda games like making items more useful outside of the dungeon you unlock them in. Lastly, having each area having you progress through by doing puzzles just like the dungeons is so much fun and rewarding. Used to I dreaded the dungeons in Zelda games, but because of every part the game having puzzles makes dungeons much more fun and natural to complete. There has been very few times where I got stuck, but when I did it was always an "aha" moment for me than a "finally" moment. I'll just shut it here before I drag it on for too long.

PBG, you are so funny! I've watched almost all your videos, and i always go back to watch them anyway! I love Zelda and was hopeing you could do more videos for Zelda games. I just subbed to PBG today, I'm glad to see he loves Zelda so much. This game is my favorite, and I have played most of them, though being 16 not in release order. What's great is that with a series so huge then everyone has their favorite entry for a reason. After beating OoT, WW, TP, Lttp, this was my favorite. The combat was awesome thanks to the motion (I never had any problems) the story was easily the best in the series, the world was beautiful, the main characters had a lot of personality and development, the boss fights and dungeons were all memorable, and I don't mind that it's "linear" even though Zelda has never been known for being "open". My only complaint was Fi, seriously besides the King of Lions all Zelda companions I want to kill! Anybut, if you have a different favorite, that's fine, just don't get mad

I love Skyward Sword. It's probably my favorite Zelda. I started with Ocarina of Time so it's not that I don't like the older ones like some douches in the comments seem to think is the only possible reason for liking Skyward Sword. This Zelda is a character I actually WANT to save. You feel an actual growth in your strength as the game goes on, such as when you have to get saved by Impa at first, but later you're the one saving her ass. And a bunch of other reasons.

Every aspect of ss... First playthrough I had fun but it wasn't until a while later that it dawned on me that it's probably my favorite (or top 2-3 I suppose). It's incredible in every way, fun to play every time. Makes some zelda games look pale and boring in comparison, which is incredible. Not even sure why some people don't feel the same way (other than nostalgia)

I didn’t care for Fi all too much until the scrapper robot came in and she actually half-expressed an emotion of embarrassment when it made it clear that it liked her. It made me realize that her adventure with Link was slowly changing her from an emotionless entity that had one sole purpose in life and only focused on that into an actual character with feelings. When Fi’s farewell came along...it broke me. It was really devastating knowing how far she had gone with Link only to be forced into an eternity of gatekeeping for the most evil being in the universe, forever separated from the only friend she will ever have.

I have received so many glares from my buddies because my skyward sword and Wind waker are two of my favorite Zelda games. I don't understand why both of them recived so much negativity. Skyward sword has great music, amazing story, and beautiful graphics. (Like wind waker) Both games deserve much more love than they get, if u ask me.

I really enjoyed this review PBG. I agree with your statements about both Zelda and Fi. Zelda is beautiful when she's dressed like a princess, but she seems a little more realistically attractive and interesting dressed and designed as a regular citizen, but most importantly, with a more engaging personality. I love the way Fi dances too. She's pretty cool. I also got a huge laugh out of your analysis of Ghirahim's stupidity. Really, he is no different than your dime-a-dozen milksop-ish anime demon that fails in it's attempts to come across as an attractive human. It was so satisfying to smack him around throughout different phases of the game.

I also love Twilight Princess despite what people say about it and it will always have a huge place in my heart because it was the first Zelda game i ever played. Skyward Sword and Twilight Princess are probably my favorite zelda games ever if I have a favorite.

Skyward Sword was how I found out about the Zelda franchise entirely. I walked in on my grandpa flying around in the sky and doing dive bombs through rocks, and he even let me play a little bit. It was very different from the typical Mario I was used to, and was a very fun experience. When my grandpa got more into the Play Station and Xbox, he gave me all of his Zelda games (Ocarina of Time, Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, and Skyward Sword), and since then I consider The Legend Of Zelda one of my favorite franchises in history. It's also the franchise that I have the most merchandise of. So, thank you Skyward Sword, you beautiful and amazing game

I really like Skyward sword yes there is some issues with it but the on thing I really like about it is when you go into the bazaar is the change of music I mean it's the same tune but in different Rhythms that goes to certain shops and PBG I really like how you described about the running mechanic

I love the world building that SS did. There were some elements that were a bit lacking, like some of the graphics, though I think that the aesthetic of the game made up for a good deal of the graphical deficiencies. Fi was a bit annoying at times, but that made sense with her character, she was supposed to aid the hero in his quest, and this was the first hero, so he didn't have any of his previous lives to draw on. The story was a bit linear, but again, that makes sense because of the different setting, you're basically on a plane and CAN go to all these different placed directly, without having to make travelling miles and miles on land interesting, so instead they were able to make an amazing place in Skyloft, and just make it awesome.

[SPOILER ALERT] This game is definitely one of my top favorite Zelda games. The ending battle felt a little...anticlimactic. The build up for Demise felt a little lacking, even with the Imprisoned battles and all. He just sort of, well, dies, and the battle itself is most definitely nothing compared to the final Ganondorf and Ganon battle in OoT. Still, this game sets a great foundation for the series as the first in the timeline. The final ending, after you defeat Demise, was incredible. The character development deserves an A+, and I have such an attachment to each unique person. ~~opinion OVER~~

I was laughing way too hard when you were saying "LOOK AT THE SWORD, LOOK AT THE SWO--OH, NOPE!" I also found the bagpipe music a nice choice.
Also, the first time I played the game, I thought the fortune-teller was some fat lady. I never mentally realized the character had a mustache.

The game had a lot of potential, but it didn't used it's maximum potential. Honestly, the game is really good, but... It could have been the best Zelda in the world, and... Not as much has good haw was actually Wind Waker.

I will never forget the day my brother was playing Skyward Sword, went to bed in an unknown house and woke up that night to see it was the fortune teller's house.

I actually recently got into Zelda. The only ones I've played are wind waker, ocarina of time 3D, and breath of the wild. I beat all of them, but not 100%. I'm on the path to beating 100%, and once I do that, I'm looking forward to starting skyward sword.

Great video, but it's weird watching you being so calm, your narration back then was much slower paced. As for the game, it's good but I do feel the controls aren't very responsive and makes the game a bit more tedious, though that might have to do with me playing an emulator instead of an actual wii or the fact mii motion plus is one of the squares instead of the ones that come integrated into later controllers.

I really did like this game; one of my favourite Zelda games. But I never did finish it, though. I remember I made it to the very end, fighting the very last boss, but my Wii broke-ded and my data was erased. About a week straight of gameplay flushed down the shitter. Was I mad? No. I was furious! I actually wanted to beat the game and earn the ending. I put so much time and effort into making it that far, I was captivated by its charming story and beautiful scenery, so much so that I forgot what real life looked like. This was the last game I played that I really felt involved with the characters and the plot. I don't think I'll ever play a game like that again. It was a sad moment in my gaming life.
I also liked this review. I don't normally stray away from who I know (I don't like change very often), but I understand you play and are associated with ProJared and I thought I'd give you a try. You may see my comments every now and then, but what do you care? You probably won't even give this a glance, let alone read the entire thing. So I'll keep it short below.

About two years ago, I stopped playing Skyward Sword after MANY failed attempts to get through the mine cart track at the desert boat harbor. The places I always died were the jumps. The other day I found out you don't do anything with the remote on those jumps (I had always instinctively flicked the remote up, like Mario Kart Wii taught me). Then I find out that there's absolutely nothing else to that area. Fi tells you the thing you're looking for isn't there, and that you should leave. That was the most retarded thing in a Zelda game I've ever encountered.

Fi is probably my favorite Navi-esque character, I don't know why and I can't explain it, I actually got pretty depressed when she said goodbye at the end of the game, especially when she said, "may we meet in another time," I really hope she does show up in another Zelda game or at least gets referenced. (And don't say, "She did show up in another game, Hyrule Warriors!" Hyrule Warriors doesn't count, it was a spin off of Dynasty Warriors, but for Nintendo gamers.)

I played this game in 2012, got to the first dungeon and rage quit. Recently, the Wii U put this on the eShop and thought I'd try it again. I'm about to enter the Fire Sanctuary and despite still hating on the controls, the story and dungeons captivated me.

The game's not too bad, though I do find the motion plus controls to be clumsy and infuriating at times and Fi tends to tell you stuff you already know as opposed stuff that is helpful. But I like the story and the temples are fun(sometimes), one last thing, the silent realm trials are nerve-wrecking

This being the first Zelda game I ever owned/played, I can honestly say I do think highly of this game. But I can't deny some of the flaws pointed out by several other reviews, like the incessant linear handholding throughout most of the game. Then again, most people who have these complaints are at least respect the opinions of those who played it, as opposed to some other "sophisticated" gamers. coughegoraptorkaff
