Broudie and Rogers formed the act as the "perfect pop project", and Lightning Seeds broke through in 1989 with the psychedelic synth pop hit, "Pure", which made the UK Top 20 and was a minor hit on US pop radio and a major success on US alternative radio. In the 1990s Lightning Seeds became one of the most popular and enterprising of the era. The 1995 album Jollification was a critical masterpiece, spawning several successful singles. In 1996, Lightning Seeds provided the music and production for the official England anthem for the Euro '96 football tournament. The lyrics were written and sung by comedians Frank Skinner and David Baddiel, and the song, "Three Lions", went straight into the charts at number one.
Since the release of 1999's Tilt the act has taken a back seat as Broudie concentrated on producing the works of others. However, in 2006, Broudie reformed the band with a selection of new members, releasing a Very Best Of album, and performing a number of tour dates. In 2009, the band released Four Winds, their first album in 10 years.

Who never get it right.
They don't know what to do,
So you do anything you like.
(Put your foot down and drive)
Oh, you're a silly thing,
(Put your foot down and drive)
(Put your foot down and drive)
You're never gonna be like all those fools,
You're going out tonight.
There's nothing to lose,
You're gonna give it all a try.
Don't ever change,
Don't ever change,
No never change,
Never change.
You better say your prayers,
A whisper to the wise.
And thank your lucky stars,
For coming out tonight.
(Put your foot down and drive)
Oh you're a silly thing.
(Put your foot down and drive)
Don't ever change,
Don't ever change,
No never change,
Never change.
When tearful eyes are open wide,
They're still too blind to see.
A change in style for a little while,
Is only make believe.
(Put your foot down and drive)
Oh you're a silly thing,
(Put your foot down and drive)
You're such a pretty thing,
(Put your foot down and drive)
Oh you fool you got me started.
Oh you fool you got me started,
Don't you ever change.
The Lightning Seeds' song "Change" is a fun, upbeat anthem about standing out and embracing individuality. The lyrics refer to the world being full of fools who never seem to get things right, and encourage the listener to do anything they like instead of following the crowd. The chorus repeats the message of not changing and staying true to oneself, while also urging the listener to take risks and live life to the fullest. The verses include a nod to thanking your lucky stars for being able to go out and have fun, as well as a warning not to get too caught up in trying to change oneself for others.
The lyricist of "Change" seems to be celebrating the idea of not conforming to societal norms and being comfortable in one's own skin. The repeated references to putting your foot down and driving could be interpreted as a metaphor for taking control of your life and following your own path, rather than being influenced by outside forces. The bridge of the song explicitly states that a change in style is only make-believe, suggesting that attempting to be someone you're not is ultimately futile. Overall, "Change" is a feel-good song that encourages listeners to be themselves and live boldly.

The world is full of fools,
There are many people in the world who are not wise
Who never get it right.

When tearful eyes are open wide,
Even when someone has an emotional awakening
They're still too blind to see.
They may still not be able to see the truth
A change in style for a little while,
Changing your appearance for a short period of time
Is only make believe.
It is not real, just pretend
Oh you fool you got me started.
You have inspired me, even if others think you are foolish
Don't you ever change.
Don't ever become someone you're not

Good tune .... sound .... magic .....
Its heaven-on-earth folks
Rise and shine carbonites
Play your music, dance your dance
Its in a-chord-dance
And its 'by the wei'
We are the suns, the stars, of man
We are heaven-on-earth too
No 'big secret'
They mess with us and we find our rythm again ....
Just what we always knew
Choice? Ha ha
We love this life, there aint nothin to choose
We are presents of presence
North, south, east and west ...
We're all the b....

While I absolutely agree that 1995 is a great year, this song is technically from 1994 (that's when the album Jollification came out).
