@Eddie Last I loved those GM crotch coolers, most AC cars of the era had them, and some worked better than others. Part of the Bi-Level HVAC circuit. IDR if on MAX Recirc. AC you had air from there. On my Riv, I set it to "Auto" temp 70 degrees "Auto" fan speed, and it came out of all of the vents, defrost, side window defrost, feet, crotch as face vents. On a hot day, those R-12 AC systems worked like nothing I've ever seen since, as did heat and defrost on cold or wet days.

Also, wind/road noise was minimal, and with the Moonroof shade closed, sun load was minimal. It was like driving your living room sofa, but it handled much better on the turns. Moonroof never leaked, the Turbo V-6 ran really well, the car was surefooted, handled for what it was, and was great on rain snow, ice and dry roads. Moderate oversteer, roll was admirable, but for the time, with reduced weight, the power was appreciable. Easily a 120 mph car on the open road, long 2.73 or 3:23 hi-way gears.

The 700R 4 speed was better thand the 425 transaxle, though the 700R-4 did like to hunt ratios whenever you tipped in the throttle. Either jumped between 3-4 , or pop in then out of lockup. Fuel mileage was respectable at 25 on my Riv Turbo V-6, even with a Quadrajet.

The little Red Green Yellow Turbo lights were sexy as hell, and the Bose stereo FM cassette sounded decent then as now. CB radio was among the options as well, though mine didn't have one. Wish I had one and the Stainless roof from the Eldorado Biarritz to add on with the Landau 1/4 top. I preferred the Landau top to plain painted roof, then Caddy added the Biarritz package and pushed it over the top.

Damn fine looking cars, today as ever. Great expanses of perfectly sculpted sheet metal, nice sharp edges and lines to define it. Gorgeous, whether a Toro, Eldo, or Riv. The E-body is just begging for a later gen supercharged LS motor, or Gen 3 Hemi SC'd.

Just think of it with modern all wheel drive added, independent 4 wheel rack and pinion suspension, supercharged, coil-over shock spring combo, big brakes, big tires and wheels, plus all the poise of a modern electronically controlled powertrain, dual exhaust with cutouts and Cadillac mufflers keeping it stock sounding. Plenty of room under the hood for anything, SC, Turbo's whatever you can dream of, and a full frame tying it all together!

@Richard Exactly! I'm 6' 200. I miss 60/40 bench seats too. I don't know of a new car/SUV/truck that offers that seating arrangement. Nothing is as comfortable on a long drive. What happened to loose pillow/biscuit pattern upholstery?

I miss real wood framed in chrome or stainless steel. Walnut, Birdseye Maple, Rosewood. The interior accents on this Touring Coupe are attractive in my opinion.

Larry's Rivi was a '83. White w/ Maple Red leather interior. Olds 307 V8. 6 way pwr, fully reclining front seats w/2 position memory for the driver. Loaded. We both loved cars and collected them. Many drives from San Diego up the coast to LA & the Bay Area. Before that he bought a Silver '79 Toronado. Red velour interior. It looked exactly like the ones Oldsmobile used in its advertising campaign. That Olds 350 V8 moved it out smartly and the suspension was a bit stiffer.

Over 40 cars since I was 19 yet I've never built a custom. I clicked on this posting because a while back I thought of finding a tired TC like this with a grey/tan interior and dropping a 350/368, sans the 4-6-8 govenor, then adding a floor shift from a later Eldo. The '67 Chevrolet color 'Deep Water Blue' is eye catching. My late mother special ordered her '69 GP in that color and I've always wanted a dark blue car.

Looked on the internet, but couldn't find any examples/info on installing a floor shifter on a this series Eldo. B & M makes shifters, but I'd want it to look stock. These days I would expect an electronic transmission shifter could be wired through the cowl, preventing the need to drill through the floor. Many hobbyist do so much with custom cars. I've worked a few auctions. Even a dial knob shifter extending forward of the current console would be cool. Dual exhaust would finish it, but a project of that magnitude may turn out to be too lengthy and expensive versus buying a 67 Rivi and calling it good.

@Richard Agreed. I had a Burgundy Mist and black interior '65 Riviera with the clamshell hidden headlights. I think a '67 will be a nice now. Mine will have a vinyl top.

All those options allowed buyers to personalize their cars. Now it's just wheels.

Miss low, slim consoles that allowed you to slide over. If something fell on the side, you could easily retrieve it. Deep twist carpeting is gone. It felt pleasureable to kick of your shoes and drive. They stopped placing chrome trim around the pedals and the foot wells are narrow now. I wear a Sz 14-Medium shoe. Sometimes I must remove my dress shoes to drive a modern car.

Want slide levers for the HVAC: Cool-Cooler-Cold/Warm-Warmer-Hot. Not a infotainment man and definitely not a fan of redundant radio controls on the steering wheel where the horn buttons should be.

Why must we spend 💰 to have a dealer remove the bumper to access the headlamp assembly, just to change a bulb. Somethings not right.

Doug is funny and really shows you things about the car that many car YouTubers don’t even mention maybe that’s why he has over 4 mill subs compared to this dude lol but we all have our own opinions I guess btw dude needs to learn how to say Cadillac correctly

I remember seeing a full on black w/ gold trim one of these a few years back. Super old dude driving it and it was SWEET. Always liked the looks of these ever since driving a '76 Eldo in my early 20's.

The only 2 door you could fit 6+ people in w/ comfort. Thing drove like a comfy couch, loved it.

That car is drop dead beautiful 😍

I love this car Bill. These are so few and far in between that you almost never see such well kept examples like this.

I miss my 83 every day and I knew of 2 others in my town . The touring coupe emblem on the side costs more than I paid for the car. I paid $700 with 67k miles the emblem was stolen . It was $800
