The Day I Understood
The Livid Lyrics

It's loose but solid, so clean and tarnished
So lost again, a map in my hand
So full and empty, with so little but plenty
At times we get so lost and devastated
Our paths are vague but still so regulated
At times we feel so tired of trying to try
Cry, I won't try to wash these tears out from my
Eyes, I won't try, cause they're the kind that never
Dry, they collide with everything I've ever tried to hide
And keep inside
Above, I'm sitting, so loose but fitting
I'm starved by eating, so cured by bleeding
My gut is misled by all the pictures I've read
My memory's dead but you remain in my head
Now I'm sealed but leaking
So silently speaking. Now I understand
I've confused my reading
A door closed but open
Brand spanking new and broken
So belligerent and strident
But I haven't even spoken
The Livid's song 'The Day I Understood' is a poignant exploration of the struggles and contradictions that arise in our lives. The opening lines of the song set the tone, describing the singer as standing still and looking closely at something that is "loose but solid, so clean and tarnished." This oxymoronic language suggests that the singer is trying to make sense of something that is both beautiful and flawed, a puzzle that is both frustrating and fascinating.
As the song progresses, the singer reflects on the ways in which we can feel lost and devastated in life, even when we are trying our best to follow a path. The chorus highlights this sense of frustration with the line "At times we feel so tired of trying to try," a sentiment that many listeners will likely relate to. The singer also acknowledges that sometimes the things that make us cry are impossible to change, and that accepting this fact is an important part of healing.
The second verse of the song shifts the focus to the singer's own experiences of feeling starved and cured, misled and confused. The line "my memory's dead but you remain in my head" suggests that the singer is struggling to let go of someone or something, even though it has caused them pain. The final lines of the song are both powerful and enigmatic, describing the singer as "sealed but leaking" and "belligerent and strident" without having even spoken. This suggests a deep inner turmoil that the singer cannot easily express.
Overall, 'The Day I Understood' is a thought-provoking and emotionally resonant song that deals with complex themes of loss, acceptance, and self-understanding.

The new album will have Jeremy back on vocals. The material is killer and we cant wait to get it out to you guys...its taking longer than usual because its hard to find time where all four of us can make it to rehearsals...but stay tuned and tell your friends to listen to our music. Thanks for the kind words everybody!!!

Hey...this is Adam, the drummer. The guitarist is Chris Schembri and the origjinal vocalist is Jeremy Hernandez. The singer in this vid is Justin Humes...Back in 02 Jeremy left to go to med school...hence Justin joining. Justin is a real amazing singer and is also the nicest guy you'll ever meet...so it makes us sad when people put him down and insult him...but now Jeremy is a doctor at the General Hospital in Hamilton Ontario...at the moment we are in the process of writing a new album.

Was listening\Jamming to this song listening to it from the album I just noticed the voice on the album wasn't Justin singing, I had to pull up this video as I much prefer his voice, His vocal range is amazing in my opinion. Ambition Within is by far my favourite record from them.

No way!!! This version has the singer from The Ambition Within, not Jeremy Hernandez. Good song, my favorite off Fear Of Fading.
