All the things that I have running through my mind,
Will all be gone in time.
Remember son,
All the things you've done,
And all the things you lost,
And all the things you've won.
Black and white world.
Tell me everything,
Will be alright.
Walk this way with me,
Into the light.
'Cause you can let it slide,
Baby just for tonight.
Just know that everyone feels broken sometimes.
She said, "Take your time,
Things will be just fine.
Don't bite the hand that feeds,
'Cause nothing is ever mine.
And just wait your turn,
And always try to learn
To love the ones that don't show love in return."
We're just trying to find some color in this
Black and white world.
Tell me everything,
Will be alright.
Walk this way with me,
Into the light.
'Cause you can let it slide,
Baby just for tonight.
Just know that everyone feels broken sometimes.
When you're walking backwards,
Don't be afraid to close your eyes.
'Cause the truth is, darling,
That everything will be alright
Alright?
Tell me everything, (Tell me anything)
Walk this way with me, (Please tell me everything)
'Cause you can let it slide,
Baby just for tonight.
Just know that everyone feels broken sometimes.
Tell me everything,
Will be alright.
Walk this way with me,
Into the light.
'Cause you can let it slide,
Baby just for tonight.
Just know that everyone feels broken sometimes.
Oh yeah, everyone feels cheated sometimes.
Yeah we all feel a little fucked up sometimes.
The Maine's song "Color" is an uplifting song that highlights the struggles of feeling lost and defeated. In the opening verse, the lyric "Let it slide, all the things that I have running through my mind" implies that the singer is willing to let go of their worries and fears for a little while. They acknowledge that everything will eventually fade away with time, including the memories of what they've lost and won.
The chorus brings in the idea of finding color in a black and white world, referring to the dullness of life and the need to search for something that will make it all worthwhile. The singer asks for assurance that everything will be okay and encourages others to walk beside them towards the light. The repeated line "just know that everyone feels broken sometimes" is a reminder that feeling lost and alone is a universal experience.
The second verse delves deeper into the theme of patience and acceptance. The singer advises to not harm those who have helped you and to always be willing to learn and grow from negative experiences. The lyrics promote love and empathy, even for those who may not reciprocate those feelings.
Overall, "Color" is a song about finding hope amidst struggle and encouraging others to join in the journey towards a brighter outlook on life.
