United
The Metal Alliance Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Sludging in dark venues creating something slow
From the legends through the decades they bestow
The sounds of the underground for us to let go
Neglected by the system in all those years
We were doing fine, just drinking our beers
Satanists, occult witches, masters of fears
We'll find our own way, we are here to stay
United we'll never fall, heavy metal standing tall
Divided we might be, we're all the same community
Together we answer the call, heavy metal standing tall
Rose from the darkness into the mainstream
Panic broke out, made the silly housewives scream
Belittled by the critics, yet they could not redeem
Not including metal, we didn't fit in their regime
We don't need a grammy from you pretentious fucks
All full of shit and swinging off each others nuts
The biggest dick rider convention of the year
Everyone there to suck off whomever is near
We'll find our own way, we are here to stay
United we'll never fall, heavy metal standing tall
Divided we might be, we're all the same community
Together we answer the call, heavy metal standing tall
No need for the most radio play
No need to write and obey
No need for MTV's video replay
Because metal always finds a way
We'll find our own way, we are here to stay
United we'll never fall, heavy metal standing tall
Divided we might be, we're all the same community
Together we answer the call, heavy metal standing tall
No need for the most radio play
No need to write and obey
No need for MTV's video replay
Because metal always finds a way
The opening verse of the song "United" by The Metal Alliance sets the stage by reflecting on the band's roots deep within the underground music scene. The lyrics portray a sense of solidarity and perseverance as they recall their humble beginnings playing in dark venues and crafting their unique sound. There is a recognition of the influence of past legends and the legacy they have inherited, providing them with a sense of purpose and continuity in the underground music world.
The following verses delve into the band's defiance against societal norms and mainstream expectations. Despite being marginalized and misunderstood by the larger system, The Metal Alliance proudly embraces their identity as outsiders, unapologetically celebrating their connection to themes of darkness and rebellion. The lyrics highlight the diversity within the metal community, encompassing a range of subcultures and rejecting the labels imposed upon them by those who fail to understand their art.
As the song progresses, there is a defiant rejection of mainstream validation and commercial success. The band boldly asserts their independence from industry accolades and rejects the notion of conforming to mainstream standards. They criticize the superficiality of the music industry, condemning the culture of pretentiousness and insincerity that often pervades the mainstream music scene.
The chorus of the song serves as a rallying cry for unity within the metal community. It emphasizes the strength that comes from solidarity and mutual support among metal enthusiasts, reinforcing the idea that despite any divisions or disagreements, they are ultimately united by their shared passion for heavy metal music. The repeated refrain of "heavy metal standing tall" serves as an anthem of empowerment and resilience, symbolizing the enduring spirit of the metal genre and its ability to persevere against societal pressures and industry norms.

Great song. I love how the troopers seem to have taken combat lessons from Marco Rossi and Bill Rizer- charging headlong into battle, screaming bloody hell and not even bothering to take cover except when something explodes. Hilarious.
