Mighty Diamonds are a Jamaican trio who had major success during the 70's at the 'Channel One' studio and record label at Maxfield Avenue, Jamaica.
Despite their heyday at Channel One, the trio continued to produce sublime work in later years, notably for 'Gussie Clarke' with the classic 'Pass The Kouchie' which rode an updated cut of an old Studio One instrumental called 'Full Up'. The tune was also covered by the English group 'Musical Youth' but was known as 'Pass The Dutchie'.

Oh no!
I a way comes about it
I jus't to find now.
Oh yes!
If you let me try you got know to tell me?
But you'll found somewhere
Little girl, little girl,
What to do and to me?
I just can't Figure Out
Oh no!
What trying to do next
You was wanted just to see me cry
You gotta you know to tell me
That you i found somewhere
Little girl, little girl,
I never cry!
But i try to live my life over again.
Again 2x
You gotta you know too and vibe me
To tell me how much you found somewhere?
Little girl, little girl, I never cry!
But i try to live my life for again.
The Mighty Diamonds's song "Just Can't Figure Out" is a classic example of the confusion and frustration that comes with trying to make sense of a partner's actions. The lyrics are simple, yet relatable, expressing the singer's struggle to understand what their significant other wants from them. The first stanza sets the tone for the rest of the song, with the singer expressing their desperation to find a way to make things work. They are willing to do whatever it takes, but they just can't seem to figure out how to make it happen.
The chorus repeats the phrase "I just can't figure out," emphasizing the sense of confusion and frustration the singer feels. The second stanza adds a layer of betrayal to the mix, with the singer expressing the feeling that their partner wants to see them fail. Despite this, the singer is willing to keep trying, "to live my life over again." In the final stanza, the singer pleads with their partner to be honest with them - "you gotta you know to tell me" - but ultimately they know they can't rely on anyone else to make things right.
Overall, "Just Can't Figure Out" is a timeless song about the struggles of love and relationships, and the difficulty of trying to navigate our emotions and those of others. It speaks to the universality of human experience, and the challenge of trying to make sense of the world around us.
