Mighty Diamonds are a Jamaican trio who had major success during the 70's at the 'Channel One' studio and record label at Maxfield Avenue, Jamaica.
Despite their heyday at Channel One, the trio continued to produce sublime work in later years, notably for 'Gussie Clarke' with the classic 'Pass The Kouchie' which rode an updated cut of an old Studio One instrumental called 'Full Up'. The tune was also covered by the English group 'Musical Youth' but was known as 'Pass The Dutchie'.

Garvey was great old man
He freed peopleβ²s minds
No better friend to find
Where is Marcus today?
Where is Garvey I say?
What about the teachings he gave you
Thought about human rights
Brothers should never fight
Always giving love
No better friend to find
Where is Marcus today?
Where is Garvey I say?
What about the teachings he gave you
Put it into practice today?
Now black deserves respect
Brothers to know themselves
What am trying to say
He was a civilized man
Where is Marcus today?
Where is Garvey I say?
What about the teachings he gave you
Put it into practice today?
Garvey was a good old man
Garvey was great old man
He freed people's minds
No better friend to find
Where is Marcus today?
Where is Garvey I say?
What about the teachings he gave you
Put it into practice today?
Garvey was good old man
Garvey was brave old man
Garvey was good old man
