Celebration
The Monotypes Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

We don't need education for everything we do.

We just need this fascination.

We don't need celebrations for every move we rule.

We don't need those expectations.
I will always try to lose.

(we don't need no celebrations)

I will always try to loosen surface.

We don't read imaginations for nothing more than truth.

We don't see that occasion.

We will need medication for every grief we seal.

Please redeem this situation.

I will always try to lose.

(we don't need no celebrations)

I will always try to loosen surface.

Yes we're in it for the ride of our lifetime.

Yeah we're in it for the spurt of our life ride.

We don't wanna say "No".

We just wanna let it go.

We don't see confrontation in every word you say.

We just need an explanation.

We don't need legislation for our minds are set and free.

We're in need of recreation.

I will always try to lose.

(we don't need no celebrations)

I will always try to loosen surface.

Yes we're in it for the ride of our lifetime.

Yeah we're in it for the spurt of our life ride.

We don't wanna say "No".

We just wanna let it go.

Overall Meaning

The Monotypes's song Celebration seems to be a reflection on the idea of celebration and whether or not it is truly necessary for happiness and fulfillment. The lyrics suggest that there are other things that are more important, such as fascination and truth, and that celebrations and expectations can often be a hindrance. The singer acknowledges that they will always try to lose, perhaps meaning that they will strive to let go of expectations and just enjoy the ride of life.

The overall message seems to be one of embracing freedom and letting go of the need for strict structures or societal norms. The mention of medication and grief also suggests that the singer may be struggling with mental health or personal issues, and the need for recreation and explanation highlights the importance of self-care and communication in relationships.

Overall, the lyrics of Celebration are open to interpretation and can be seen as a commentary on the complexities of human experience.

I think this video is very touching and emotional! I think the ending scene is extremely effective with the slow motion clip, and I like how the characters all look like each other, so there is a consistency to it. I also really like how you promote the issues of drink driving which is a good thing to teach the youngsters of today. Over all, I really love this video and the necklace morph part is very visually pleasing and clever!

Gaaaah, Jade, it's so good! Well jell. I like how fast-paced it is. I especially like the introduction of the candle - gives the impression of really 'starting' :)
