The Mood was a British band from 1981 to 1984, based in York. It consisted of members John Moore, Mark James and Eric James (no relation as their real names were Mark James Fordyce and Eric James Logan).
They released a single on a local small independent label "Is There A Reason". At that time in 1981 they were a five-piece band. The three above members of The Mood signed to RCA in 1982 and released a new re-produced mix of "Is There A Reason". Then came "Don't Stop", still a bit of a cult classic in music circles (top 10 Hit on the Billboard Charts in the US). None of them reached the UK top 40 charts, but the follow up "Paris Is One Day Away" almost did. It landed at number 42 on the UK charts and stopped there. Two places higher would have got them a definite slot on Top Of The Pops, but it was not to be.
Follow up singles were "Passion in Dark Rooms" with "The Munich Thing" on the flip side, and a final single, "I Don't Need Your Love Now". The band split in 1984. A mini-lp was released in the US though no album was released in the UK.
2)
The Mood is a Czech indie rock band. The Mood were founded by Aleš and Ondra around August or September 2001. Ondra sang (rather screamed) for some short time and finally gave up this matter. Since that time members haven't changed. They recorded live album "Under pressure of time" after six months of rehearsing and playing concerts over Moravia. The record was taken in rehearsal room with Oto's help.

The Mood has been making quite a name for themselves in New York City's music scene. This 5 piece boasts infectious pop tunes infused with a sunny rock 'n' roll vibe that has audiences dancing far and wide. The effortless vocal harmonies of cousins Marco Argiro and Corinne Callen gracefully compliment gritty guitars, grooving bass lines, and pounding drums.
4)
The Mood is a Romanian indie band. They started in October 2005 as a group of 3 guys: Mircea, Bogdan and Virgil (who used to play in the band Ex Nihil). Six months later, a new member is being selected: Marius (vocals). They rehearsed having several names: I.C.E. (meaning 'Looking for her'), Fook'er, G.o.d. (Gallery of Dreams) or Karl. At the end of the summer they decided to give a new name to their band namely The Mood. Their first concert was with the band CALM in the club called Big Mamou on 16 November 2006. Since then, many concerts followed in different clubs from Bucharest such as B52, Expirat, Suburbia and many other places. Songs like 'Hey', 'Two Times' or 'Extasy' have become very popular among the young people from Romania.

Are You Ready
The Mood Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
You were everything
Now I turn your tricks I’m sorry that you’re gone
Can’t unplug time I’m stuck in the game I cannot
Be young again
I do love snow days so much Winter feelings
Your jacket
I want to wear you
I scream it
And you come I want the proof Is it really you? Ahhhh
au
How can I tell Are you ready? Are you ready?
I can drive cars
And go really far To strange places Ready so I won’t
I can’t help you
I am not your hand Didn’t know then Sorry I was 2wrong
I’m Ready but I won’t
The lyrics of The Mood's song "Are You Ready" delve into themes of nostalgia, growth, and longing for a connection with someone from the past. The opening lines, "When I was a kid, you were everything," convey a sense of idolization and reliance on someone who had a significant impact on the singer's life during their childhood. However, as time passes, the relationship undergoes a transformation, leading the singer to apologize for the way they now manipulate and deceive this person.
The line "Can't unplug time, I'm stuck in the game I cannot be young again" reflects the inevitability of aging and the inability to revert back to a simpler, more innocent time. The nostalgia is further emphasized in the lyrics "I do love snow days so much Winter feelings, your jacket, I want to wear you." Here, the singer reminisces about the joy of winter days and the desire to embody the warmth and comfort associated with the person they address.
The chorus, "Are you ready? Are you ready?" suggests a longing for validation and connection with the person they once looked up to. The following lines, "I can drive cars and go really far to strange places, ready so I won't / I can't help you, I am not your hand, didn't know then sorry I was wrong" illustrate the singer's growth and independence. They have learned to navigate the world on their own, however, the absence of this person has left them feeling incomplete.
Overall, "Are You Ready" explores the complexities of relationships, the passage of time, and the longing for connection with someone from the past.

Such an awesome tune, as so much of Plant is from this era. But I respectfully disagree about it being ahead of its time. It is very much of its time, brings me right back there every time I hear it, as does Big Log, Little by Little, Tall Cool One, Ship of Fools...All these and more were beloved in their time, I can remember as if it were yesterday, damn where'd those days go...
