The Moses Hogan Singers' song Ride On King Jesus is a powerful gospel hymn that celebrates the triumphant reign of Jesus Christ as the King of kings and Lord of lords. The repetition of the phrase "ride on" is a reference to the traditional image of a warrior king riding a horse into battle or victory. The lyrics express the idea that nothing can hinder or stop the reign of Jesus, who is the conquering king that every believer can rely on for salvation and hope.
The first verse sets the tone and theme of the whole song. It declares that Jesus is the King of kings, who rides in power and glory, and no one can thwart his will or purpose. The phrase "no man can hinder thee" is repeated throughout the song to emphasize the unstoppable nature of Jesus' kingship. The subsequent verses exalt the many titles of Jesus, such as "Lord of all," "first and last," "Lord of lords," and "prince of peace." These titles reflect the many aspects of Jesus' character and divinity that Christians believe in and worship.
The song ends with an exhortation to keep riding on with Jesus, reminding us that no matter what challenges or obstacles we face, we can always trust in the eternal victory of our Lord and Savior. The powerful lyrics, combined with the soulful harmonies and rhythmic melody of the music, make Ride On King Jesus a timeless classic in the genre of gospel music.

This might honestly be one of the greatest pieces of music ever written. Forever thankful I got to sing this uplifting, spiritual gem in Dr. Brewer’s choir class at Pellissippi State Community College in the brisk fall of 2014. Sadly he passed away in March of 2015 at the age of 59. Thank you Bill for giving me the privilege of singing it, your students love and miss you.

This brought me so much joy this morning. I was a member of the concert choir at SC State University in 2000-2004 and learned this in my freshman year with Dr Evans. Be blessed.
