For snacks yogurt, apple sauce, and ice cream
and of course tons of water

@Michael snow they actually told me to stay away from dairy because it causes a lot of mucus you may not feel it now but it may effect you … i should’ve listened but i wanted ice cream🤣

I didn't want to do that surgery but due to illnesses, I had to remove it and the doctor says it was worth it. I'm on day 2 and I can't get off pain killers as it hurts so badly. I hope whoever just did theirs recover soon!

Day 7, each day has been worse than the previous. 43 yo man. Update: Day 8 was like 100% better. Been 10 days and no pain meds needed. That turning point happens quick when it does come around.

Got it removed currently on day 7 it hurts when i wake up and eat something without painkiller i am literally unable to even live for a minute it hurts pretty bad...gotta wait till i can eat all of the tasty food again in this recovery period it made me realize the food which i used to refuse to eat is even heaven....fed up eating icecreams and bad drinks in the sake of recovery...it's gonna be fine just few days then we'll be free and healthy...fighting❤

so, nobody mentions how it rips your throat when you yawn post surgery? i find all pain manageable, yawning kills me, scabs only for like an hour out of the whole post surgery period, really. All pain manageable, i made it without pain relievers

@100Battery actually I felt no pain so far. My uvula is a bit enlarged so I have this uncomfortable feeling of Something in my Throat but it's been improving over time.

@100Battery considering I had trouble swallowing food prior to the procedure I've had massive improvement. I no longer have to think about swallowing food. It just goes. I also had regular nosebleed. That's gone too. No sneezing when exposed to the slightest dirt.

Got mine out 6 days ago, on a 5th day i had to come to the hospital, because it was bleeding, and here I am now in a hospital typing this 😅
I am having trouble sleeping, but the pain is more or less bareble, just drinking water and coca cola. On top of that i have about 10 blisters in my mouth, soo yea they hurt like hell...ad the tonsol pain, and yeah bad combinstion. I am positive i am gona get through it, and soo will you ❤

I'm there with yah, day 5 I had a blood clot and ended up vomiting up 4 times of just pure digested blood that I evidently had swallowed at least a day ago. Luckily I don't think any complications will happen now but fuck am I alot more paranoid this time around.

Did you have any other complications after they fixed it when you went back?

@Niloch i have had high CRP levels because of infection, also small fever, but they gave me antibiotics and i was fine after 4 days. Now i am home and all is fine, just drink a lot of water...helps with infection and pain.
Other than that, all was fine...

I am in my day 6 right now. It is so hurt af everyday, mostly in the morning after wake up. The painkillers dont really work on me except in the 14.00-17.00. I cant talk until now. Right now is better because i can drink water, not that hurts anymore. Pls give me more tips to reduce the ill ❤

Day 5 post operation. Didn’t drink enough water throughout the first days hurt like crazy. Recommend not waiting until you’re 21 to do this.

@Meulo this is my 5th day post op and its been rough. Throat is super raw today with some muscle spasms.my pain meds needed upped today. The other days weren't too awful bad, just felt like a bad sore throat. I did lose my voice though right off the bat. But I'm hoping i start feeling better starting tomorrow. Drinking water constantly has really helped.

@Meulo keep your pain meds going round the clock.set alarms so you dont miss a dose. I am having to keep an ice pack on my neck and chin all day at this point. Drinking and eating is really hard right now because of the pain, but ive found that cream of chicken is a filling, yet soft food that doesnt hurt as bad. . Lukewarm water is helping me too. That ice water burns. Flex your mouth and neck and gargle warm water frequently. This will keep everything soft and not dried out. I pray you heal quickly! This post op is a booger for sure!

@Midnightpintowolf thanks for the tips ill be using ice packs aswell now, i just used painkillers so hopefully i can drink 1l of water in 20 minutes it should be redycing the pain this will be 1l of water of the entire day i really have to find ways to make it feel better or ill go back to the hospital...

Just do it, I had a fever of 103-104 back in January and it was due to my tonsils acting up again. I couldn't take anything for it since it had always been viral. So antibiotics doesn't do any good. Decided to scheduled an appt with ENT. I am on 4th day post-op. I waited too long, I'm 52. Good luck with your surgery!!!

I just recently had tonsillectomy and I miss eating all them good foods and it's been a while since I had a normal meal the painkiller is absolutely disgusting my 3rd time throwing up today and it's dry in the morning and hurts in the evening praise the lord that anyone who gets tonsillectomy heals and nourishes there soul amen

Just had my surgery yesterday. I don’t feel any pain due to hospital drugs of course. I been drinking Gatorade to stay hydrated and I ate some mashed potatoes. My uvula is swollen. It’s huge and I can feel it. Other than that. It was successful. Let’s see how today goes

Day 4 post-op, taking percocet 5mg and its not controlling my pain. Decided to add another one-half tablet to keep my pain under control. This is the worst sore throat I ever had in my life. Feels like razor blades in your throat. I waited too long for this, I'm 52 right now. If anyone can't take a whole tablet just crush it to fine powder and mix it with cold juice or water. Can't wait for full recovery!!!

@She’s Arrived 💅 I'm no longer taking pain meds, my last day was Thursday night. I took one Percocet 5mg to help me sleep at night. I'm a pharmacist, so I know narcotic meds very well. I still have some Percocet left from my doctor. Norco 5 or 10mg should helps with the pain if your doctor doesn't prescribe Percocet.

I had it done many years ago. The pain feels exactly (if not slighty worse) than having tonsilitis (infected tonsils). Very painful indeed.

It's been more than 7 months yet my severe tightness and suffocating sensation on the surgical sight uptill hyoid bone on only entire left , disphagia isn't gone isn't gone the HOSPITAL that did my surgury isn't helpful and Denys all post operative complianctions including glossopharyngeal nerve and deep muscle damages leading to bells palsy type look of my mouth after opening , loss of gag reflex and hoarness in voice not able to speak louder too

@Miss B no improvement yet lost my job as well as i have been blacklisted in mumbai state entirely because I filled civil law suit on that ent surgeon when private hospital Doctors call him he tells i filled case and don't do any surgury and govt hospitals don't have the cure but they gave me written documentation proof of damages that ent surgeon did in ot which the ent surgeon Denys due to his ego saying all this govt hospitals have written lies

No, during the actual surgery you are completely unconscious. No pain whatsoever. But after waking up from surgery you will obviously begin to feel pain.

The best part of having this surgery is the doctors will give you ice cream and jelly after surgery. This is to reduce the pain.

Why the people like us. Have to go through painful things my tonsils and inside or in middle you can see it fully not near the throat willfully. In middle. Hurts so much bad idk it's so annoying and bad + my type of tonsils can never recover
