Day I've ever known
Can't live for tomorrow,
Tomorrow's much too long
I'll burn my eyes out
Before I get out
I wanted more
Bored by the chore
Of saving face
Today is the greatest
Day I've ever known
Can't wait for tomorrow
I might not have that long
I'll tear my heart out
Before I get out
Pink ribbon scars
That never forget
I tried so hard
To cleanse these regrets
My angel wings
Were bruised and restrained
My belly stings
Today is
Today is
Today is
The greatest day
I want to turn you on
I want to turn you on
I want to turn you on
I want to turn you
Today is the greatest
Today is the greatest day
Today is the greatest day
That I have ever really known
The New Christy Minstrels's song "Love Theme" is a melancholic but reflective song that seems to be about living in the present moment as tomorrow is uncertain. The lyrics paint a picture of the singer's obsession with today being the best day of their life. The line, "Can't live for tomorrow, tomorrow's much too long," communicates the idea that the singer is so focused on living in the present moment because the future is out of their control. The singer is living life on the edge and can "tear my heart out before I get out." This line is particularly emotive and seems to imply a sense of desperation from the singer as they are willing to do whatever it takes to feel alive today.
The pain and regrets of the past are seemingly still with the singer as they sing about "pink ribbon scars that never forget." However, they also sing about trying "so hard to cleanse these regrets." The singer seems to be still recovering from some past trauma, as they mention having "bruised and restrained angel wings" and a "belly stings." The repetition of the line "Today is the greatest day" seems both hopeful and almost as if the singer is trying to convince themselves that it is true.

Springfield Fair by Randy Sparks & Nick Woods
Soldier, soldier come with me, we'll go down to the fair.
Oh, how can I go and be your beau when I got no shoes to wear?
i'll go down to the cobbler shop and get you the finest there.
They'll look so neat upon your feet
as we go down to the Springfield Fair, we go down to the fair.
Soldier, soldier come with me, we'll go down to the fair.
Oh, how can I go and be your beau when I got no suit to wear?
I'll go down to the tailor shop and get you the finest there.
You'll look so cute in your brand new suit
as we go down to the Springfield Fair, we go down to the fair.
Soldier, soldier come with me, we'll go down to the fair.
Oh, how can I go and be your beau when I got no hat to wear?
Well, I'll go down to the hatter's shop and get you the finest there.
Imagine that, a fine silk hat,
now we'll go down to the Springfield Fair we'll go down to the fair.
Now you're dressed from head to toe
and I just can't wait to go.
Soldier, soldier come with me, we'll go down to the fair.
Oh, how can I go and be your beau, when I got no way to get you there,
down to the Springfield fair.
Well, I'll go down to the carriage house and get you the finest there,
Side by side is how we'll ride as we go down to the Springfield Fair
we go down to the fair.
Soldier, please come with me, we'll go down to the fair.
Oh, how can I go and be your beau when my wife and fourteen kids are there
the wife and the kids are there.
