1. Mid 60s garage rock band from Minneapolis, MN. They released the famous "The Crusher" 45 single on Parrot Records in 1964. The b-side was "take 7". The Crusher 45 was reissued as an EP in 1999 by Norton Records, adding the previously unreleased tracks "On The Road Again" and "My Sin Is My Pride!".
"The Crusher" is about professional wrestler, Reginald "The Crusher" Lisowski from Milwaukee, WI. It peaked at #88 on the US Billboard Charts.
2. Mid '60s Psych-Garage band from Dallas who scored a regional hit in 1965 with their psychedelic rock single "William Junior" b/w "And It's Time". Real Texas garage rock classic! A singles compilation has been released by Dragon Street Records in TX. The photos that are featured here are primarily of the Texas band "The Novas" and NOT the MN band that recorded "The Crusher". The Texas band "The Novas" will be performing at South By Southwest 2010 on Saturday, March 20th at 9:30 PM at The Continental Club in Austin, TX. I'm the bass player in the Texas band. Baby-Baby-Baby
The Novas Lyrics

Da margarina
Da Carolina
Da gasolina
Você precisa saber de mim
Baby baby
Eu sei que é assim
Você precisa tomar um sorvete
Na lanchonete
Andar com a gente
Me ver de perto
Ouvir aquela canção do Roberto
Baby baby
Há quanto tempo
Você precisa aprender inglês
Precisa aprender o que eu sei
E o que eu não sei mais
E o que eu não sei mais
Não sei, comigo vai tudo azul
Contigo vai tudo em paz
Vivemos na melhor cidade
Da América do Sul
Da América do Sul
Você precisa
Você precisa
Não sei
Leia na minha camisa
Baby baby
I love you
The Novas's song Baby-Baby-Baby is a playful and cheeky tune that revolves around convincing the listener that they need to know certain things in order to be in on the fun. The lyrics begin by listing seemingly random things like the swimming pool, margarine, Carolina, and gasoline, but then quickly shift to the central message of the song: "Você precisa saber de mim" (You need to know about me). The singer is trying to woo someone, and in order to do that, they want to show off their city, play the hits of Roberto Carlos, and even suggest learning a language together. There's a contagious energy to the song, and the chorus of "Baby baby, eu sei que é assim" (Baby baby, I know it's like that) creates an infectious and catchy hook.
What makes Baby-Baby-Baby so charming is the way it doesn't take itself too seriously. The lyrics are tongue-in-cheek, almost like a parody of a love song, and the fact that the singer is trying to convince the listener that they need to know about them is both amusing and endearing. Musically, the song is upbeat and danceable, with a driving beat and prominent guitar riffs. There's a sense of fun and excitement that permeates every note, making it the kind of song that's sure to get stuck in your head.
Overall, Baby-Baby-Baby is a playful and infectious ode to love and fun. The Novas encourage the listener to let loose and enjoy life, to see and experience new things, and to embrace the joy of seeking out new love. It's a song that's sure to put a smile on your face and get you moving.
