The Novelists Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Traded it all for my sake
I never questioned my choice, or even felt that I should
It's always crystal-clear
I spent more time in this room to write all this
Than with my family and all my friends
I traded my everything
I won't be the one who forget his dreams
I'll make sure to remember them
I'll take a glance at the Earth
When I'll be on the roofs of the world
The dream will be mine
For now I wanna be the one who lead his life
I might have took the longest way to leave my dream
But every miles will bring me closer to it
I'll build it all of my bare hands
Will follow the sun on its journey
I wanna tame this heart which is mine
Feel that I'm leading my life
I hold the key in my hands
I left behind me the comfort of a normal life
Traded it all for my sake (I never felt a regret)
I never questioned my choice, or even felt that I should
It's always crystal-clear
These lines that I write are the mirror of my soul
Like a letter to this kid who played alone
Now... this kid do feel like a man
He bear the weight of his dreams
Stands just before your eyes
He found a meaning at his life
He wanna know...
He wanna know what this life can bring him
He wanna know where this road will lead
So take him away and show him places he'd never seen
I remember the promise that I have made to myself
The kid I was has grown up, but all his dreams stayed the same
The souvenirs of his words linger inside of my head
It's like crystal-clear
This is us versus the fate
I wanna know...
I wanna know what this damn life can be
I wanna see where the road will lead
So take me away and show me these places I've never seen
I left behind me the comfort of a normal life
Traded it all for my sake
The lyrics to The Novelists' song "Voyager" speak to the sacrifice and determination required to pursue one's dreams. The singer reflects on leaving behind the comfort of a normal life and dedicating themselves to their own path. They never questioned or regretted their choice, finding clarity and purpose in their decision.
The song highlights the trade-offs made in pursuit of a dream. The singer admits to spending more time alone in a room writing than with their family and friends. They acknowledge the sacrifices they have made, giving up everything to feel the freedom of walking their own path.
Despite the challenges and the long journey they have taken, the singer remains steadfast in their commitment to their dreams. They refuse to be someone who forgets their dreams and instead make a promise to remember and fulfill them. They express a desire to explore the world, to stand on the roofs of the world and take it all in. The dream is seen as something worth pursuing, something that belongs to them.
The lyrics also evoke a sense of growth and self-discovery. The singer reflects on their younger self, the kid who played alone, and expresses a realization that they now feel like a man. They bear the weight of their dreams and find meaning in their life.

I'm really missing early novelists. Their style is perfection. Easy to see why Souvenirs is many fan's favorite album!
@joes1429
The guitar tone and riffs are on point, melodic and not overly chuggy and boring. The bass is tasteful and at a good level volume wise, same for the drums. Great vocals and great lyrics too. It’s just a tight package of an album. One of the few I’d give 10/10
@nikolayrusanov8714
I don't know about you, but for me Novelists with Matteo (the old vocalist) are like poetry with guitars.
@SwerlinMerlin
Matteo has a new band called Sal3m & it's very much old novelists but improved upon, I only found out about them myself today!
@JC27x
@@jakemessenger307 Sal3m is great, though it wasnt just the vocals of the Souvenirs album, it was the vibe, the atmosphere, the guitar rifs.. it just felt unique. It was almost a bit prog, as their tracks werent so predictable. To me it was the perfect metal vibe i was looking for at the time.
@principlvideoteka
This is exactly what we needed in music

+Djent Compilations Completely indeed!
@iambillystanley
Souvenirs is just one of those timeless albums. Nothing else really sounds quite like this album does. I put it right up there with ERRA's Impulse and Augment. Such a masterpiece.
