Along with fellow California punk bands Green Day and Rancid, The Offspring have been credited with reviving mainstream interest in punk rock in the United States during the mid-1990s. To date, The Offspring has released eight studio albums, one compilation, four EPs and three DVDs. They have sold over 34 million albums worldwide, making them one of the best-selling punk rock acts of all time. Each album since the release of their 1994 album Smash has sold over a million units.
Since the release of Smash, which is the best-selling independent label album of all time, The Offspring has achieved commercial success over five albums, with singles such as "Come Out and Play", and "Self Esteem". The band’s next three albums, Ixnay on the Hombre, Americana and Conspiracy of One, were also successful, with Ixnay on the Hombre and Conspiracy of One reaching platinum certification, and Americana achieving multi-platinum status. Longtime drummer Ron Welty left The Offspring in early 2003, and was replaced by Atom Willard. Later that year, the band released their next album, Splinter, to moderate sales and fairly warm reviews. In 2005, The Offspring released a greatest hits album and toured in support of the compilation. Their eighth studio album, Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace, was released on June 17, 2008 with the hit singles "You’re Gonna Go Far, Kid" and "Hammerhead."
Days Go By is the band’s ninth studio album and is due to be released on June 26, 2012. The Days Go By Songfacts reports that the title track was released as the first single and was premiered on KROQ on April 27, 2012.
2. Offspring was a short-lived English pop duo of the early 1970s, consisting of Mike Brayn and John Howard, who met at Hurstpierpoint College in Sussex, United Kingdom. They released just one single, 'Windfall' (1972). Their planned studio album was never completed.
The Noose
The Offspring Lyrics

We all end up forsaken, we're just choosing our own way
The future now incinerates before our very eyes
And leaves us with emptiness of no more tries
Well our visions of glory have spiraled down the drain
The best of our intentions come crashing down in flames
The depths of our despair we are unable to contain
The noose is falling
And all my friends are crawling
The noose is falling
And enemies are rising
A truth appalling
Our mak'are comes a calling
The noose is falling
And enemies are rising
Well the tracers from yesteryear are burning in the dust
Your bruises are reminders of naivete and trust
You're only feeling stronger cause your body's getting numb
Now I lay you down
Put the coins in your eyes
And blow the candles out
The noose is falling
And all my friends are crawling
The noose is falling
And enemies are rising
A truth appalling
Our mak'are comes a calling
The noose is falling
And enemies are rising
No more!
No more!
Nothing!
No more!
No more!
Ever!
No!
More!
The Noose by The Offspring is a song that speaks to the human condition and how we can end up forsaken even when we all make the same misguided choices. The opening lines of the song set the stage for the bleak narrative that follows. As it continues, we learn that the future incinerates and leaves us with a feeling of emptiness. Our visions of glory and best intentions fail, and our despair is too great to contain. The song seems to suggest that we are all doomed to a shallow existence.
The chorus speaks directly to the noose and how it's falling. The noose could be a metaphor for death, but it could also be interpreted as a symbol of the consequences that come with our choices. All of the singer's friends are crawling, while enemies are rising. It's an alarming truth that we will all face in one form or another, no matter what life we choose or how we live it. The bridge brings in the idea of mortality and how the tracers from yesteryear are burning in the dust, reminding us of our naivete and trust. Despite all this, there is still a sense of numbness and strength in the body.
In summary, The Noose is a song that speaks to the inevitability of failure, despair, and death. No matter what we do or how we live, we are all going to face a noose. The lyrics are stark and matter-of-fact, but they drive home an important message about the human condition.
