Push
The Palisades Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Miserable
My funeral

I try to fake it now
I always had my doubts
Push me to the edge
I've been too blind to see
What's right in front of me
So push me to the edge

Can you even tell
That I do this to myself?
I'm just crying out for
Anyone to understand me
Anyone to understand me
Or am I just too late?
Stuck in my old ways
I'm just crying out for
Anyone to understand me

I try to blame you now
'Cause I'm just shutting down
So push me to the edge
So miserable
My funeral

Can you even tell
That I do this to myself?
I'm just crying out for
Anyone to understand me
Anyone to understand me
Or am I just too late?
Stuck in my old ways
I'm just crying out for
Anyone to understand me
Yeah, yeah

So miserable (so miserable)
My funeral (my funeral)
So miserable (so miserable)

Can you even tell
That I do this to myself?
I'm just crying out for
Anyone to understand me
Anyone to understand me
Or am I just too late?
Stuck in my old ways
I'm just crying out for
Anyone to understand me

Oh God

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to The Palisades's song Push are an intense portrayal of the pain and suffering of someone who is struggling with their own internal demons. The first two lines are indicative of the contemplative nature of the singer, suggesting that they have been reflecting on their own life and the choices they have made. The chorus is the most haunting part of the song, with the singer expressing their feelings of misery and despair by describing their own death, as if they were already attending their funeral. The line "push me to the edge" is repeated throughout the song, symbolizing the singer's desperation and desire for someone to push them out of their current state of misery.

The lyrics of the song also express an element of self-blame and self-doubt, with the singer questioning their own actions and motivations. They acknowledge that they often do things to themselves that lead to their misery, but they are also pleading for someone to understand and help them. Despite this, they also seem resigned to the fact that they may be too late in seeking help or change, and they may be trapped in their old ways. The final "Oh God" seems to be a cry for divine intervention or guidance, as the singer is unable to find a way out of their own suffering.

Overall, the lyrics to Push are a powerful and emotional representation of the struggles of mental health issues and the need for empathy and understanding from others.

Easily their best album 😍😍😍

Oblivious Wanderer

Man i got so many like old linkin park vibes back when he did "bleeding out" and "given up" this is definitely an underrated song.

Aaron Greenwood

Late to this, but I get more hybrid theory or meteora vibes instead of LP's later albums.

Christopher Vaughn

I never heard of these guys until I saw them with STARSET and they fucking killed it. The lead singer is out do to medical issues so Brandon, the bassist, stepped in to fill the void and he did a fucking awesome job. He sounded better than the orginal singer in my honest opinion. Now I can't stop listening to theses guys, at least the Erase The Pain album anyway.

gabe

palisades owns my heart for the eternity
