The Parcels Lyrics

I'll be myself
Be myself
I'm told to be over the moon
I can teach myself
Teach myself
I believe myself
Believe myself
And I know it'll be over soon
I can see myself
See myself
(See myself, see myself)
See myself
(See myself, see myself)
See myself
I'm trapped, but I'm trapped in the booth
I can free myself
Free myself
Then I'll talk but you know there's no use
I can hear myself
Hear myself
The road's blocked, I can tell that we've stopped
Probably lead myself
Will lead myself
And I know if I'm moving on up
I will be myself
Be myself
(Be myself, be myself)
Be myself
(Be myself, be myself)
Be myself
(Be myself, be myself)
Be myself
(Be myself, be myself)
Be myself
The lyrics to The Parcels' song 'Bemyself' can be interpreted as an expression of the struggle to be true to oneself in a world that often tries to shape and mold people into something they are not. The song begins with the singer acknowledging that they cannot conform to what others expect of them, and that they must be true to themselves. The repetition of the phrase "be myself" emphasizes the importance of self-acceptance and self-love.
As the song progresses, the singer recognizes that they are growing older, but they still believe in themselves and their ability to be who they truly are. The line "I'll be myself, see myself" suggests that the singer is looking inward to find their true self, rather than seeking validation from others. The idea of being trapped in a booth but being able to free oneself is a metaphor for breaking free of societal expectations and limitations.
The bridge of the song acknowledges that there may be obstacles and roadblocks in the way of staying true to oneself, but ultimately, the singer knows that if they keep moving forward, they will be able to be themselves. The repetition of the phrase "be myself" at the end of the song serves as a reminder and affirmation of the importance of self-expression and authenticity.
