1. The People - … Read Full Bio ↴There are three bands that use the name The People.
1. The People - Kansas City, United States.
The People were a band from Kansas City, Missouri. They began as an early art-rock project by cousins Ben Grimes and Ryan Shank in Springfield, MO in 1999. They independently released one full-length record, "The Premise Is Sound" in 2000, and recorded an unreleased 3 song EP entitled "Japan." Thom Daugherty left the band to join The Elms in 2000. In 2003, the band signed with Astralwerks Records, releasing one album and one EP under the name The Golden Republic.
The Golden Republic split up in December 2006. Ben Grimes formed the band Soft Reeds. Ryan Shank joined the short-lived band Lovers In Transit with Jeremiah Gonzales from fellow Kansas City band, The Elevator Division. Kenn Jankowski went on to form The Republic Tigers.
2. The People - Liverpool, United Kingdom.
The People were a ragtag bunch of mates from Liverpool, famous for their dancey riffs, infectious indie-pop choruses and shambolic, unpredictable gigs. Although on the verge of greatness, they disbanded after an alcohol induced riot in early 2005. The People were: Kieron Clarke, Simon Davie, Al Robinson, Toby Sinclair, Chris Wallbank, and later Kieron was replaced by John Major (not that one).
3. The People - Ireland, 1960s.
In 1966 guitarist Henry McCullough (formerly of The Sky Rockets Showband and Gene and The Gents) from Portstewart in Northern Ireland teamed up with bassist Chris Stewart[2] (born Eric Christopher Stewart, 1946, Belfast, Co Antrim), singer Ernie Graham (born Ernest Harold Graham, 14 June 1946, Belfast) and drummer Davy Lutton (born William David Lutton, 1946, Belfast) in the psychedelic outfit The People, who initially also included keyboard player Eric Wrixon.[3] 'The People' - who had evolved out of earlier band 'Tony & The Telstars' - developed a reputation on the Blackpool and Dublin music scenes and contributed to the 1966 compilation album Ireland's Greatest Sounds: Five Top Groups From Belfast's Maritime Club. They later moved to the U.K., changing their name to Eire Apparent.

I feel how you blinded my heart... sin querer, sin querer!!
Hey! what happen to you, with our love, and now,
The passion is gone, but the kids are between us!!
It's the end of my world al teast,
At least for me please, don't hurt them!
Please, don't leave them! kids need us,
More than ever and sodo we...mi bien, mi bien!!
The song "The End Of The World" by The People's is an emotional ballad about the end of a relationship and the fear of losing one's family. The lyrics are expressed from the perspective of someone who is pleading with their partner not to leave them because their children need them. The song begins by acknowledging the confusion and pain that comes with the deterioration of a once-loving relationship. The singer feels like their heart has been "blinded" and they are left questioning what went wrong.
As the song progresses, the focus shifts to the children who are caught in the middle of the relationship's collapse. The singer begs their partner not to hurt them by leaving and emphasizes that the children need both parents to continue on with their lives. Ultimately, the song ends on a hopeful note, expressing a desire to stay together for the sake of the family.
Overall, the song captures the difficulties and complexities of relationships, particularly when children are involved. It highlights the importance of family and the need for both parents to be present in their children's lives, even when times are tough.
