The Piano Lyrics

Is it a love from a higher place, ay
We face any weather
We do it with smiles on our face
From de bottom of my heart
To de tip of my tongue
Like de beat of a drum
Under de island sun
Dat does light up de road
Is de power of a people
Dat does lift up de world
We singing a-woah oh
I will not let you go
Soca, a-woah oh oh
For de love that we know
We'll go on with de show
We'll go on, we'll go on, we'll go on with de show
De show
What brings us together
Is it a voice calling every race, ay
Make memories forever
Our spirits dance far beyond this place
From de bottom of my heart
To de tip of my tongue
Like de beat of a drum
Under de island sun
De fire in we soul
It does light up de road
Is de power of a people
Dat does lift up de world
We singing a-woah oh
I will not let you go
Soca, a-woah oh oh
For de love that we know
We'll go on with de show
We'll go on, we'll go on, we'll go on with de show
De show
And with our hands up in de air
We'll sing for all the world to hear
And we will celebrate
And we appreciate
Cuz we never spread no hate and we live to create
De fire in we soul
It does light up de road
De power of de people
Dat does lift up de world
We singing a-woah oh
I will not let you go
Soca, a-woah oh oh
For de love that we know
We'll go on with de show
We'll go on, we'll go on, we'll go on with de show
De show

After a long time, I have finished learning this song. I was only able to learn six notes (that’s twelve counting the other hand) at a time—I made sure to play everything perfectly up to that point. I was unable to practice frequently because I have my piano in another city (where my parents live); I study and work away.
It has been so much time and I feel so happy, but I also feel a little sad because opening this video was always great.
The song is amazing and beautiful.
I plan on playing this in one of my family’s favorite restaurants. The pianist over there became a friend and he suggested I learned this song; I can’t wait to show him.
I thought it would be super hard to achieve, but one just needs to stay committed. In the end, one realizes that the body and the piano become one and the song plays by itself...
Thank you so much!

Guys it looks really hard but if you just start with one hand separately, you’ll realise both hands follow a pattern. Then you just have to put them together 😄

yeah I do wonder, should I learn 2-4notes at a time with both hands, or learn the entire peace with one hand, then add the other hand (I would start with my right in that case).

Maybe you could make a video showing one hand at a time? I would find that so useful!

@Gianna Giavelli lol..classical gets me period!

It's hitting the right hand melody, making the melody distinctive from the broken chord being played with it that gets me....need to tackle those Hannon exercises to build up strength in those weaker fingers....lol...

That's it! When we are learning a difficult song, it may seem difficult but once you dominate it, it's like the song plays itself
