The Piano - The Heart Asks Pleasure First Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

What brings us together
Is it a love from a higher place, ay
We face any weather
We do it with smiles on our face
From de bottom of my heart
To de tip of my tongue
Like de beat of a drum
Under de island sun
De fire in we soul
Dat does light up de road
Is de power of a people
Dat does lift up de world
We singing a-woah oh
I will not let you go
Soca, a-woah oh oh
For de love that we know
We'll go on with de show
We'll go on, we'll go on, we'll go on with de show
De show
What brings us together
Is it a voice calling every race, ay
Make memories forever
Our spirits dance far beyond this place
From de bottom of my heart
To de tip of my tongue
Like de beat of a drum
Under de island sun
De fire in we soul
It does light up de road
Is de power of a people
Dat does lift up de world
We singing a-woah oh
I will not let you go
Soca, a-woah oh oh
For de love that we know
We'll go on with de show
We'll go on, we'll go on, we'll go on with de show
De show
And with our hands up in de air
We'll sing for all the world to hear
And we will celebrate
And we appreciate
Cuz we never spread no hate and we live to create
De fire in we soul
It does light up de road
De power of de people
Dat does lift up de world
We singing a-woah oh
I will not let you go
Soca, a-woah oh oh
For de love that we know
We'll go on with de show

We'll go on, we'll go on, we'll go on with de show
De show

Whenever I hear this cover or song, or see the movie...I get so emotional. I dont know why, but this piece is so moving.

@waynemarshall439

Probably because dude cuts off the finger of a mute lady whose only voice is her piano...

@tifftiff7363

@@waynemarshall439 Well that is a direct emotion from the movie as an Empath connecting with the character and story line. but beyond the script and actors, these particular notes are moving. the sound vibrates on a deep level and I resonate with the emotional connection to the sound.

It’s beautiful alright. I made a video of roberto Baggio (best footballer ever who went through serious leg injuries) to this very song. It evokes such emotion. When you see the struggles of a deaf women with music as her only outlet, I drew parallels between the two. God I love this piece

@lisapisane7251

What movie are you talking about? I just like this song - didn’t know it was featured in a film.

@randallmontbriand7626

It actually tears at my soul. Even though it's supposedly a love song. I learned it for the wife of a friend. It is worth it to learn and fills my soul when I play it. Official version is performed far too quickly. This version is much more to my taste.
