1) The Plan is the brainchild of Swedish singer Theodor Jensen, otherwise known to Swedish pop audiences as the guitarist of cult band Broder Daniel. To date they have released three albums to moderate success in their native Sweden. While the band began as a four piece featuring Jensen along with organist Mikael Furugärde, bass player Peter Morén (of the more internationally famous Peter Bjorn and John) and drummer Niklas Forsell, Jensen is now the only member left.
2) The Plan is a Canadian mathcore outfit with Michael Catano from North of America. Influenced by the noisy post-punk from San Diego and Chicago math-rock, The Plan got together in the spring of 1999 as a side project for North of America vocalist/guitarist Michael Catano and Led By Regret bassist Mackenzie Ogilvie. After guitarist David Harrison and drummer Jon Hutt were recruited, the quartet played around their Halifax hometown and quickly signed to Matlock Records. Lance Purcell eventually took drum positions in time to release the Plan's first album, This Time Is not This Place, in 2000.
3) The Plan are also Cliff Thomas and Jon MacNish who release nice quality Detroit Techno music on a sublabel of Submerge Recordings and that sublabel also has the name The Plan.
From Boomkat:
Bringing the Past, Present, and Future together, comes the newest label from the Submerge family, THE PLAN. Having a sound that draws from their own personal experience of growing up in the Detroit area, Jonathan MacNish and Cliff Thomas, are some of the first artists at Submerge that have grown up hearing Detroit Techno. 8 Miles Wide chugs in with funky drums and emotional synth timbers while 4-Bit Logic is more of an elastic sounding dancefloor affair with its driving bass and percussion.
Daybreak
The Plan Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I saw you in your mess and I heard you say
What could make a girl know she's worth loving
Heartache
I'm just another lost one and I'm wasting time
But I need to know, just like you, how I'm worth loving
There's not a law to read
But something is pushing me
And by the dawning
I can't see how I'll be worth loving
Payday
That's not about us and I'm glad I'm aside
You do what you've got to, better make it worth loving
And I know it's just about me
There's not a law to read
But something is pushing me
And by the dawning
I can't see how I'll be worth loving
The lyrics of The Plan's song Daybreak explores the idea of self-worth and how one can recognize their worthiness to be loved. The singer narrates how he sees someone in their "mess" and hears them asking what could make them feel loved. The line "What could make a girl know she's worth loving" emphasizes the feeling of inadequacy that the person is experiencing. The theme of heartache is also evident in the song, with the singer admitting to being "just another lost one" who needs to know how they are worth loving.
The song seems to suggest that the answer to finding self-worth lies within oneself. The line "I know it's just about me" suggests that the person should focus internally and not worry about external factors that might affect their sense of self-worth. However, there still seems to be doubt about whether they will ever feel worthy of love. The line "And by the dawning, I can't see how I'll be worth loving" shows that even at the start of a new day, the person still feels uncertain.
Overall, the song Daybreak is a poignant reflection on the importance of self-love and acceptance. The lyrics convey the struggle of finding self-worth and the need for others to recognize their own value. The romanticized view of staying up through the night, waiting for the dawn and the start of a new day, is a beautiful representation of the idea that even in the darkest of times, there is always hope for a new beginning.
