I can make it with you
The Pozo Seco Singers Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

When the world was on my shoulders
And all hope for tomorrow was gone
You took my hand, and baby
You made me see there's a future for me

And I can make it with you, baby
I can make it with you
I can make it with you by my side

And when life had lost its meaning
When my dreams had been shattered by time
You touched my hand, and baby
You made me see there's a future for me

And I can make it with you, baby
I can make it with you
I can make it with you by my side

I remember when I was down
I was lost but I've been found
I can make it with you, baby

I can make it with you, baby
I can make it with you, baby

Such a beautiful and powerful song. There were some girls during my high school days that gave me this feeling. But I was too shy to tell them. No matter, in my mind I communicated it to them.

Thank you for bringing us great old music . I am 68 now but I remember these hits on the tube radio

Absolute, utter, jaw dropping perfection.

I really liked this record and will concur with several others who have said that this should have been a bigger hit. I was a weekend DJ in Lansing while attending Michigan State University. I often played this on my show and it was requested often by the listeners.

I grew up listening to WILS and WJIM on my transistor radio, and still have all every weekly survey from both stations, from 66 to the early 70's!
Were you a DJ on one of these great stations?

@doctorofenglish68

@AmericanaMusicFan:
I was on the weekends in 1965 through the summer of 1966. I then transferred to Southern California from Michigan State, but came back in the summer of 1967 and 1968 (my swan song from radio). After I graduated from USC, I came back to Michigan to begin my career in education. It was the best part time you could ever want. I was treated well, but it was never going to do it for a career.

Loved this as a kid when it would blast out of my radio tuned to KLIF 1190 in Dallas. The punchy mono mix IS superior to the stereo with the drums up in the mix. The stereo mix is "pretty" and sounds good on an AC station, but the drums are buried. I was surprised this didn't chart on BB's easy listening/AC chart like their others.

a lot of people don't know that the late great country singer don williams is the lead singer of this group and started out in rock and roll before crossing over to country music. i bought this 45 record and stll have it when it went on sale in june 1966.

@eugenespudich8867

became a big hit when it was released in summer of 1966.
