The "story" of this album is told by Jesse as seen in other Coheed & Cambria albums. This story is however, not completely separate from the Coheed and Cambria universe and several characters from the Co&Ca universe are mentioned interchangeably. The albums title, My Brothers Blood Machine, is a reference to a type of machine that is used within the story that is capable of ripping peoples bodies apart in order to free their souls. It is also thought that the Blood Machine is a symbol for the heart.
Run Gunner Recall Run! The Town Wants You Dead!
The Prize Fighter Inferno Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Once upon a world way before your loss.
So look out I fear that they follow near.
While in the courthouse Judge Kevin sentenced rope to neck.
They don't hear the serpent that burns your ear...
Baby look out!
Guilty says the proof, this town has no room for you.
So look out I fear that they follow near.
For from the gallows you'll swing for all the kids to see.
They don't hear the serpent that burns your ear
Or the coward that sits alone in your head with it...baby look out!
Cause I'm so sorry that you could ever
I'm so sorry for you, you'll never
Love again.
The beginning of the song speaks to a need for honesty. The singer advocates for telling the truth and not keeping any secrets. It's like they've been through something traumatic, and they want to make sure that others know what's happening so that it doesn't continue. The next line takes the listener back in time to a moment before something bad happened. There's a sense of nostalgia and longing for a time when things were good.
However, things have changed, and now there is danger. The singer fears that someone or something is following them, and they need to be careful. There's also a reference to Judge Kevin sentencing someone to death. It's unclear if this person is the singer or someone else, but the threat is very real.
The next section talks about the difficulty in walking away from a situation. Even if the singer wants to leave things as they are, they can't because they're being accused of something. The town has deemed them guilty, and there's no room for them anymore. The fear of being followed is still present, and the consequences of being caught are dire. The line about swinging from the gallows is particularly chilling.
Finally, the song ends with a regretful tone. The singer is sorry that the person they're addressing will never love again. It's unclear why or how this happened, but it's clear that it's a tragedy.

what do you mean? the whole album (along with coheeds good apollo albums) has a weird muddy sound, like the sound isnt deep enough, too compressed or something? im bad at describing it. its a good song though
@caseythecrowe
idonteatcheetos I agree, it actually has terrible quality. It also has no bass, which makes it sound thin. But yes, it's a good song

Anybody coming back to this album after listening to The Unheavenly Creatures?
@benxtaron
The amazing thing about Claudio is that even live, his pitch range is still incredible. While not as deep or high as the recorded stuff, he can still hit the notes well.
