If I remember right, I discovered them when I decided to watch their old meme songs, Intensive Care Unit and Rainbow Tylenol, because I was looking back at old memes, I didn't know those songs were by the same artist, but I eventually figured it out from the comments, from there I just kept discovering alias after alias after alias.
So part of the reason why a lot of people haven't discovered them is because they don't realize they've already heard their music before due to all the different names.
Also I'm pretty sure the penis music meme has given them a mini resurgence recently, though I couldn't give you any exact numbers on viewership trends.
