Debuting in November 2008, The Ralphs are partly a family affair, with brothers Jamie (Vocals/Guitar) & Leigh Ralph (Drums), their cousin Conor Ralph (Guitars), and friend Brian Ruane (Bass) forming the axis of the band. Their debut single in August 2009 'Waste of Time/Gunfire' earned them support slots with the likes of Delorentos, Fred, Ham Sandwich, and The Flaws, a session on 2fm, and also some nice words from the national press.
The Ralphs are looking onwards and upwards, and are about to release their debut E.P, '21st Century Window' in September 2010 which they hope will gain them an even wider following. Expect energy at their live shows, and if you're real lucky, chaos might even ensue.

Storms
The Ralphs Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
You thought you wouldn't make it,
But I knew you would somehow.
I guess I knew you could make it in the end
And it's good to have you round again old friend.
You weather the storm,
You weather the storm.
And you come up smiling in the end.
So, you're over all the disappointments now.
You thought you wouldn't make it,
But I knew you would somehow.
Maybe it still hurts to think of bad times that you spent,
But it's over, and you're back again old friend.
Chorus
Into every life, a little rain must fall,
And for sure it poured down on you.
An umbrella's no good in a hurricane,
But just like the sun in the end you come shining through.
Chorus
So, you see, it's getting better now,
You look a little battered,
But we all do anyhow.
When the break is mended it can be stronger than before.
Don't go round butting doors or punching walls.
Repeat chorus twice.
The Ralphs’s song “Storms” is a testament to resilience and the ability to weather any storm that comes your way. The lyrics describe the end of a difficult time for someone who has just come out the other side of a personal struggle. Despite thinking that they wouldn't be able to make it, the singer knew that their friend would, and they express their happiness to have them back in their life. The chorus emphasizes the importance of being able to weather the storm, come out smiling, and move on from the bad times.
The lyrics use the metaphor of a storm to represent the struggles that the person has faced. Despite the difficulties, they have managed to persevere and come out stronger. The chorus repeats the line “You weather the storm” multiple times, emphasizing the idea of overcoming adversity. The final verse of the song encourages the listener not to let their struggles get them down, as they will only come out stronger once they’ve weathered the storm.
