With the success of "Raised on the Radio" came a full length album deal with MCA. 'The Ravyns' was released in 1984, and, as with the single, it was once again lauded by critics on both sides of the Atlantic. Still, commercial success appeared to be eluding the group, with them starting to be labeled as a "one hit wonder".
Within one year, the band produced three music videos— "Raised on the Radio", "Don't Leave Me This Way", and "Rhythm of the Heart"— the last of which won MTV's 1985 'National Basement Tapes' competition, solely from viewer support. Despite keying on a catchy pop and rock sound, the band fell into obscurity as the musical scenes of the 80s shifted.
In more recent years, the Ravyns have continued to enjoy attention and notoriety by rock fans young and old as an underrated piece of 80s pop culture. "Raised on the Radio" has appeared in many trivia publications and shows, has been recorded by various newer groups over the years, and still emerges in rock radio formats worldwide. They have two additional full length albums of note: 'Remnants' and 'Live at Maxwells 1983', the latter recorded at Maxwells' night-club in Baltimore.

It's so appealing that I intend to let you know
I've got a reason to be escaping from my fear
A change of season; I feel the air is gonna clear
Maybe in another day; maybe in another night
I'm gonna turn another page; see it in another light
Baby, I can't wait too long; I'm gonna take another chance
I'm ready for romance
Ready for romance
I've got your number; I heard you left it on my wall
When I was under; now the tears begin to fall
They fell on me, babe; I felt the end was drawing near
But now I'm free, babe; I see the air begin to clear
Maybe in another day; maybe in another night
I'm gonna turn another page; see it in another light
Maybe in another song; maybe just another glance
Baby, I can't wait too long; I'm gonna take another chance
I'm ready for romance

Maybe in another day; maybe in another night
I'm gonna turn another page; see it in another light

Ready for romance
The lyrics of The Ravyns’ song Ready for Romance explores the idea of being open to new opportunities for romance after previously experiencing heartbreak. The opening lines “I got a feeling; runs from my head down to my toes” express the excitement and anticipation that the singer feels about the possibility of a new relationship. They are eager to let their love interest know how they feel and address their fears of rejection and vulnerability head-on.
The second verse reveals that the singer has experienced heartbreak in the past and has been hesitant to let their guard down. However, with the change of season, they feel that the air is clearing, and they are ready to take another chance at love. The chorus repeats the proclamation that the singer is “ready for romance” and highlights their eagerness to turn a new page in their love life.
The bridge continues with the theme of a fresh start and new perspective, with the repeated line “Maybe in another day, maybe in another night, I’m gonna turn another page, see it in another light.” The song ends with the same sentiment of readiness for a new relationship.
Overall, the lyrics of Ready for Romance communicate the idea that even though heartbreak can be painful, it is essential to stay open to the possibility of new love and taking risks.
