Overall Meaning

The lyrics of the song "Want You Bad" by The Rebels appear to be repetitive, with the phrase "Don't you want me" repeated multiple times throughout the song. However, the repetition seems to emphasize the desperation of the singer, who is pleading with their lover to want and love them. The singer seems to be uncertain about their significance in the life of their lover, or whether their lover reciprocates their feelings. The repetition of the chorus could also signify the persistent thoughts running through the singer's mind, always wondering if their love is enough to sustain the relationship.

The chorus of the song is also interesting because of the upbeat tempo and rock melody juxtaposed with the lyrics that convey a sense of vulnerability and uncertainty. The lyrics of the song paint a picture of the singer desperately reaching out to their lover, pleading for them to want them back. The repetition of the phrase "Don't you want me" could also signify the singer's inability to let go of their lover or the idea of their relationship.

In conclusion, the song "Want You Bad" by The Rebels is a catchy rock melody that conveys the desperation and longing of the singer for their lover's love and validation. The repetition of the chorus emphasizes the persistent thoughts of the singer and their inability to let go of their lover or the idea of their relationship.

@Jacob Huff it's a failure of yourself the individual if you don't follow the line of the sith code and break your chain of self destruction actions.

Through passion I gain strength
Through strength power
Through power victory
And through victory my chains are broken

The sith re-enforce the concept that it is the individual who responsible for their own individual actions
And if you fail and fall to corruption and ultimately self destruction it's because of your own lack of skill
The jedi would try to diffuse that responsibility of failure or success as the "WiLl Of ThE FoRcE"

they see inaction as the purest form of expression because it's a balancing act which is why in every thing that they do they stress this mythical need of balance

@Iris Gale Agreed, in most parts.
But I love Thrawn more in "Full Flight" and "Choice of One" books.
Because(from my point of view) he do a lot of simple mistakes in 3 books...

Original film also have a strange moments like :
On Endor, when rebels group get captured by Empire, they just walk with hands up. Why they not get knocked by paralyze shot? To prevent strike into back, if another support group from deep forest decides to release prisoners? Why they care about all rebel squad, they have a high rebel commanders like Han and Leia. They can just save 2 commanders for info and kill others.
But i think its ok. Because the Empire commander here was not a genius, who also versed in psychology.

But its not ok for Thrawn - a genius, who know psychology, war, economy, logic, people minds and other things.

Noghri - Thrawn can just evacuate him from Honoghr to random planet in Unknown Region(what he discovered in past). To solve problem with Vader usage plan and take loyalty of Noghri. But he decide to be a evil-villain and just deceive allies.

Emperors Treasury - he not use Caamas Document and other materials about the crimes of Republic to divide NR.
He not divide 20 000 clone cylinders on other planets in UR, to protect facility from destruction in one strike. Hes like a simple villain - who love put eggs into one basket.

He let Luke Skywalker leave 3 times in a row.

1)He send noghri without ship fueled by Ysalamiri. 20 Ysalamiri on one tree protect full Karrde base(hangars for machines, living cites, hangar for supplies and equipment, hangar for cargo, communication and detection center)
They can just set ship with 20-100 Ysalamiri into sky, to off Force in whole city.
2)When Skywalker ship was captured by Tractor beam, Trawn must send coman to shot with ion weapon. To off x-wing. And only after that - pull ship onboard. To prevent lucky shot from x-wing.
3)Thrawn know - Luke x-wing have a destroyed hyperdrive. But he just let him live and not go to him for make him 100% dead.

Thrawn didn't train his ground troops well. Empire capture Luke and R2D2 on Myrkr, but they not use restraining bolts on droid(prevent Luke to get light saber). When Empire soldiers was attacked, they don't paralyze Luke.
If they do it -> they can ignore the prisoner and direct all forces to the enemy.

Battle of Sluis Van. Thrawn not change codes from Mole Miners... Its like you take wi-fi router from someone. Bring it on military base for confidential local system. But you not change Wi-Fi password and old owner can joint into to network...
And here old owner is Lando - a huge chance what he send old codes to hist Republic friends.

He can have 1-2 clone cylindres on ship, to create clone of enemy. For info. Use GeNode for make loyal clone and take information from it. Or just watch memory without create clone, if you use stuff for memory copy.

Behaved stupidly with Mara. Could use reason, experience, knowledge and facts -> to slowly win her over to his side. But he go into wrong way.

He send only one spy group to capture Leia and Mara on Coruscant. Instead of two or more. And this operation was so rectilinear.
Instead of do it as usual - attack several places, divert attention and achieve your goal.
He not give Ysalamiri(or child Ysalamiri) to group. He not give lightsaber to group for fast burow door or walls. He didnt give gas or other paralyzed things to group.

And more and more mistakes.
He made a lot of mistakes and his death was well deserved. He killed a guy for example for one mistake. Honestly that he received an answer for all his mistakes.

But in general. The story in the books was good. Other characters, new places and events - was good.

I also couldn't finish watching Rebels. Don't really like it.
But I don't know - if it's right to blame new Thrawn in mistakes. If he also made quite a few mistakes in the past.

P.S. I would like to read a fanfic with a competent Thrawn. Could you name something? Of course, if you know and if it not hard for you. Thanks and good luck.

Exactly: shooting the enemy in a trench doesn’t translate well to having to spar with words on a political arena.

People dunk on the PT and the more political episodes of TCW because they want the pew pew pew action over the boring political stuff.

But the PT and political episodes of TCW establish the current political situation/environment why the Republic is in turmoil, why people might have become disenchanted with the Republic and either supported/joined the Separatists or supported the Empire.

There’s a precedent for ambitious people taking advantage of political instability or public dissatisfaction/dissent with how things are done with the government.

But some people don’t want to think about the cause and effect that leads to the rise of dictatorships and rebellions.

It’s easier to focus on stories of corrupt politicians and the military people that save the day vs trying to make a good government and the military people feeling lost because there’s no war to fight.

I have a friend who stopped reading the EU just before the NJO because it was just fighting without end and she was sick of it. I stopped with the FotJ series because it was war/conflict without end and I was sick of it.

There’s so much more than fighting to explore!

What about a rebel soldier being discharged, returning home and struggling to go back to civilian life? Their old job is gone and with so many soldiers being discharged at the same time jobs are being snatched up quickly and people that used to not work have jobs and those who were working in factories/facilities fueling the war machine are looking for new jobs or dealing with shifts in what’s being made.

But I guess reading about an average Joe/Jane having to readjust to civilian life after the war and rebuilding their life and relationships would be boring; especially if there wasn’t going to be a plot that they uncover and foil.

They wanted a republic that’s why they are called alliance to restore the republic

@SWannouncer The Sequel Trilogy RUINED the Prequel and Original Trilogy.

The Rebellion was the Alliance to Restore the Republic. A republic, just look at Napoleon, is not simply the greatest deal of the world, even if the American approach was less about mass rule and blood and expansion into the private. The Alliance was never about participation, but that's OK, because it was only based opon morals and Aristrocratic leadership. This must be on the one hand the case moviewise, because there are no other options shown, ever. But also is the Empire the complete opposite, similar to Jabba, Boba and even Han Solo, who all respect the private sphere, whereas the Republic and the Alliance is all about morals, so they are automatically elected "for the good". This is not based on logic, cause everybody could say, he is elected because he is good. This overstretchs even reason why there is a republic in the first place, because it is created by the most advanced race, humans, but this is cashed for minorities and high morals. Disney Star Wars makes fun, that this must lead to the most weird leaders out of equality. Or a dictatorship like 1984. For obvious reasons, such a thing would create civil unrest or cheating, and even more than the Empire, which features it's benefits and order.

@Matthew Finkenbinder I don't think they are unaware.
The scale of slaves and conflicts made by it is too small for us to ignore

This actually makes Garm Bel Iblis' point even stronger. He and his Rebel cell broke away from the Alliance because he felt Mon Mothma was just another dictator who wanted Palpatine's political power. I don't think Mothma's that actually power hungry, but it is still interesting.

Hodor

@Zenith no. power is not corrupting. it only reveals what is already truly inside man. a corrupt man is corrupt whether he has power or not while righteous man remains righteous whether he has power or not

oscar anderson

the entire point of ep1-3 was the consolidation of wartime power for the sake of security was what did in the Republic.
like, I don’t see Mon Mothma becoming a horrible dictator but she’s absolutely paved the way for the second fall of the Republic. her position is just too powerful to not be a danger.

I completely agree with Garm Bel Iblis. However, Mon Mothma sounds a little bit like "my mom" in comparison to Darth Vader "dark father". So I just think, that Mon Mothma is just illogical feminism in general, where as Bel Iblis wanted a limited government, in which decent rights and obligations could exist, which excludes unfairnis and power struggles. The Rebel Alliance never featured an inner crisis in the movies or books, but it is just unbelievable that people, who want atleast a little bit of individual freedom and therefor join the Alliance would accept rule from Mon Mothma, because there is nothing which gives her this privilege logically and others not. She might not be power hungry in the way to further increase might, but that is easily said if she is the unquestioned ruler. If Palpatine wouldn't fear that somebody could ever replace him, why should he increase might and risk it? Only, if he would be irrational or he would need suffering for live longer, but even the Sith order is not about blood lust.

Robert Davis

@DrFunctional Ditto that. At the 3 minute mark, I started thinking that the OP had missed his entire character arc.
