All I Want
The Revival Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Do you know my number
That you‘ve lost and found
On a heated day in a dreaded pile on a battleground
Do you know the feeling
Can you see me now
That the times have changed in a leap of faith with the speed of sound
A new sensation
The birth of a different nation
Is this all I’ve got
To be the first and last
Am I alive or not
Giving away
Giving away nothing
Do you know the hunger
Can you feed me now
In a distant place on a countryside far away from home
Do you know the feeling
When you see me now
That the times have changed in an leap of faith with the speed of sound
A new sensation
The birth of sophistication
Is this all I’ve got
To be the first and last
Am I alive or not
Giving away
Giving away nothing
A pile of sand, drenched with rain
Amidst a castle made of clay
Little cracks inside the walls
When you touch it
It will fall
A new sensation
The fall of a bitter nation
Is this all I’ve got
To be the first and last
Am I alive or not

Giving away
Giving away nothing

Overall Meaning

The Revival's song "All I Want" is a reflective and introspective piece that explores the various emotions that come with change and growth. The lyrics start by questioning if anyone knows the singer's number, which they once lost and found on a battlefield. This line can be interpreted in several ways, including the idea that the singer has been through a difficult time that has left them feeling lost and alone. They then ask if the listener can see how times have changed and if they can understand the new sensations that come with growth.

The second verse explores the idea of hunger, both physically and emotionally. The singer asks if anyone can feed them now and if anyone understands the feeling of being away from home in a distant place. They conclude by asking if they are alive or not and if giving away nothing is all they've got. The final verse uses the imagery of a pile of sand and a castle made of clay, both fragile and vulnerable to the touch. The singer questions if the fall of a bitter nation is all they've got, implying that they are ready for change and perhaps even excited about it.

Overall, "All I Want" is a thought-provoking piece that encourages self-reflection and growth. The lyrics explore themes of change, growth, and identity, and the questions posed encourage the listener to examine their own emotions and experiences.

I'm literally so pissed that they didn't have a better storyline , I would've loved them to end up together. I wish Rory also loved him as much as he loved Rory .

Paige Pommerencke

he deserved more screen time. he was one of the best characters and he helped rory so much, but he didn’t get shown as the guy he truly was to her.

Violet Schumacher

Zolt Zeigler I think she does but she is in denial because when they were together he left right when she was starting to love him.

I loved Logan, and even Dean for a while, but Jess and Rory were made for each other. They should have ended up together.

J i always hated dean he's sucha try hard

Itnotabaddick -_- someone who finally gets me

Itnotabaddick -_- I feel the Same , I was team dean when I was younger and I still like dean so much but unfortunately he was not the one. Logan was adorable and I almost cried when Rory rejected the proposal to get married cause they were like the perfect match and maybe the best guy for Rory in so many ways . My conclusion about this is that Logan was the love of her life but Jess definitely is her soulmate and I have a feeling that even though they didn’t show that in the revival , it looks obvious that Rory and Jess will end up together. I love Jess

Maryam

Same like I loved the other two but literati are meant to be

Kadiz :p

The facts are that jess was made for Rory. I loved logan but he never REALLY understood Rory but jess did, he understood all of her book references, he knew that she could eat and she helped him become a better person. I really think that if their storyline didn’t start while rory was still with dean, it would be completely different and so for that I’m actually happy that Rory fell for jess while she was still with dean

1:00 The part in the song "if you loved me" with Jess saying "I love you" and "why'd you leave me" with Jess leaving... I lost it.
