Saw this band for the first time when Elina just joined them for their North American tour. Good set, very entertaining. Elina had good command of the stage immediately and it took off from there. Everyone was pretty impressed with her ability and stage presence. Hope they can carry on together for a while.

The new vocalist looks really pretty. Now I got that out of the way, the new style sounds pretty good. Sounds more like a drinking metal band (where you have a couple swigs from a horn and Irish dance to) rather than a heavy moshing metal band. Enjoyable either way.

While I still love previous Leaves' Eyes albums and was doubtful about the direction of the band in recent years it is so very interesting to see the direction they are going musically. I don't hate anything about this. It's simply good shit, if a little pop and bordering on self-congratulatory, only to pull back to just a celebratory party anthem mood instead.

Sure there is extreme this and extreme that, but how about just plain good music anchored deep into the roots of western tradition. The direction musically that European metal has taken in the last few years has been an unexpected one and it will be nice to see where bands like Leaves' Eyes go to next.

Though if she sang something sultry my pants would probably melt.

Loving the stuff I'm hearing of this album, and Elina's voice. Leave's Eyes has always been a band I tend to forget exists, so I'm pretty surprised.

Also, can I just say that this comment section is reminding me of Anette-era Nightwish's? Seriously guys, I know you're angry about Liv, but can we just remember that not everyone in the band played the bad guy in that business? Wasn't Elina told that Liv had already left when she joined?

Sorry guys, but this is very good. I'm sorry for what happened to Liv, but this girl is amazing. If you need to went your hatred on someone, do it on Alexander Krull. Elina probably had no clue what was happening behind the scenes until they announced her as a singer and shit hit the fan.

Exactly, even the band's name refers to Liv. I know its tough scrapping a band's brand but they should have just made this as a whole new project, if I didn't know this was leaves eyes I would be hard pressed to figure it out, doesn't read as Leaves Eyes at all to me

They traded in Liv for a younger pretty girl hoping to get that arch enemy effect but this elina her voice has no distinct qualities, she sounds just like the other hundreds of symphonic metal female singers, just mediocre. Liv is easily identifiable and has such a consistent voice and is a part of female fronted metal's history for decades. Maybe not as renowned as say Tarja but Liv has paid her dues and mastered her individual sound.

I felt promise with the Celtic sound, but then the vocals came in. Personally, I don't feel that a symphonic sound mixed with a Celtic sound work to well. I was very underwhelmed by this, but I still felt myself bobbing along a bit during the chorus, and the bridge.

Leaves' Eyes is dead, long live Leaves' Eyes. It's a good thing that the band changed their overall style. There is no way they could carry on doing the same stuff they used to when Liv was a lead. The only possibility is to make something new and I think they realize it. Now, people need to get over their shit, stop criticizing the new Leaves' Eyes and refrain from writing shit like "No Liv, no LE". Elina has a beautiful voice, is skilled, and I reckon she's worthy of some respect as an artist. It's not easy on her part, either. I enjoy the music very much, though I treat it as made by a partly separate band, which they are, in fact.

Totally agree, I'm totally into this band in this incarnation, I do get how fans feel I know I was big Arch Enemy fan but personally just can't get with them since the change, even watching older live videos makes me well up a touch knowing it's never going to be like that again, however I wish them good luck and move on, nothing I can do about it, on the other hand with Leaves Eyes, I didn't mind them for me were a band I'd listen to and like but I absolutely love them now.

I have to admit I actually prefer Elina to Liv... However, I didn't much care for this album. I was hoping to hear at least some songs that would have been more symphonic metal and gothic metal, and less of this light hearted folk metal. Elina's live version of "Hell to the Heavens" is amazing, I'd like to hear more songs like that recorded with her.

I think one of the reasons why the comments was blocked was due to the very fact of the Liv Kristine debate. Now it is open and it will come to front. How Liv was treated and all. Liv's voice is tremendously missed and I can never think of this band the same. Sure I will view whatever material they have on youtube but I will never buy another album or merchandise.
