The Ring's song In the Beginning talks about the internal battle between good and evil, and how power and ambition can make people lose sight of their true selves. The friend sees it as an opportunity they cannot pass by, and they are willing to walk the dangerous road alone. The person trying to help knows that the road was meant for both of them, but they have to part ways for now, hoping that they will see each other again.
