The Rocker tells the story of an unsuccessful drummer who is given a second chance at fame. Robert "Fish" Fishman is the extremely dedicated and astoundingly passionate drummer for the eighties hair band Vesuvius, who is living the rock n' roll dream until he is unceremoniously kicked out of the band. Twenty years after his rock star fantasies are destroyed, just when Fish has finally given up all hope, he hears that his nephew's high school rock band A.D.D. is looking for a new drummer. They reluctantly make him the newest member of the band, giving him a chance to reclaim the rock God throne he's always thought he deserved, and taking the young band along for the ride of their lives.

God relased me from Egypth
Crossing the red sea
I walk in the desert
Ahead i see a land
I see giants behind the walls
I will kill all in the name of God
The lyrics to The Rocker's song "Promised Land" depict a narrative deeply rooted in biblical references and themes. The opening lines, "After years of slavery, God released me from Egypt," allude to the biblical story of the Israelites' liberation from slavery in Egypt under the leadership of Moses. The reference to crossing the Red Sea signifies the pivotal moment in the story when the Israelites safely passed through the parted waters, escaping their oppressors.
Continuing the narrative, the lyrics describe the singer's journey through the desert, mirroring the Israelites' forty-year wanderings before reaching the promised land of Canaan. The line "Ahead I see a land" indicates that the singer is approaching their destination. However, they also mention "giants behind the walls," which metaphorically represents the challenges they anticipate encountering upon reaching the promised land.
In the next line, the lyrics take a dark turn as they state, "I will kill all in the name of God." This line is a reflection of the biblical accounts where the Israelites, under God's command, waged wars against the inhabitants of Canaan upon their arrival. Here, the singer takes on the role of a warrior, claiming to carry out God's will by conquering and eliminating the existing inhabitants to claim their promised land.
Overall, the lyrics of "Promised Land" by The Rocker serve as a metaphorical exploration of the triumphs and obstacles faced by individuals or groups on their journey to attain their long-awaited goals, drawing parallels with the biblical tale of the Israelites' quest for the promised land.
