The Rods' third album, released 1983, was entitled In the Raw. In 1984 Canedy and Bordonaro played on Jack Starr's album Out of the Darkness with Rhett Forrester of Riot and Gary Driscoll of Rainbow. Then in 1984 the Rods released their fourth studio album Let Them Eat Metal and recorded the album The Rods Live. Their album Heavier Than Thou was originally released in 1986. An album was also released the same year, entitled Hollywood under the name Canedy, Feinstein, Bordonaro & Caudle (all of the band members). Rick Caudle handled lead vocals on that album, with Feinstein only playing guitar. Following poor sales of their final two albums the group split up.
Canedy is also a producer of heavy metal bands, and his credits include Anthrax's Armed and Dangerous and Spreading the Disease, Exciter's Violence & Force, Overkill's Feel the Fire, Possessed's Beyond the Gates and Roxx Gang's Love 'Em and Leave 'Em.
In 2008 the Rods announced that they were reuniting with the line-up of Feinstein, Bordonaro and Canedy, and in August 2008 they played at the Metal Rock Fest in Lillehammer, Norway. The album Vengeance was released in 2011 to positive reviews, and The Brotherhood of Metal was released in 2019.

Party All Night
The Rods Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴
Getting down, dirt and gritty
Gotta see what I can find
I got one things on my mind
Bright lights blind the night
Fast cars lookin' just right
I need music fast and loud
And all I wanna do is
Night falls we come alive
Street talk far and wide
Freaks out what a show
Good times I wanna know
A little brew hits the spot
Doesn't matter what I got
Get me feelin' a little high
And all I wanna do is
Party all night
The lyrics of The Rods's song "Party All Night" capture the energy and excitement of a summer night in the city. The song expresses the singer's desire to let loose, have fun, and enjoy the vibrant nightlife. The mention of the "hot night, summer in the city" sets the scene and creates a feeling of anticipation for what's to come.
The first verse suggests that the singer is out to explore and have a good time. They are eager to see what the city has to offer and have only one thing on their mind: partying. The mention of "bright lights blind the night" and "fast cars lookin' just right" adds to the intensity and allure of the city atmosphere. The singer craves music that is both fast and loud, indicating a desire for a high-energy and immersive experience.
As the night falls, the second verse describes the singer coming alive along with the rest of the city. The street talk becomes widespread, indicating a lively and bustling environment. The mention of "freaks out what a show" suggests that the singer is enjoying the unconventional and eccentric aspects of the nightlife. They are in search of good times and want to be part of the excitement that surrounds them.
The third verse adds a touch of rebellion and indulgence. The singer mentions a "little brew" which hits the spot, suggesting the consumption of alcohol. It becomes clear that the specific details of what they have or don't have in terms of material possessions do not matter. What matters is the feeling of being a little high, in both a literal and metaphorical sense. This highlights the singer's desire to escape into the night and let go of any worries or inhibitions.
Overall, "Party All Night" is a high-energy anthem that embodies the thrill of a hot summer night in the city. The lyrics convey the singer's eagerness to dive into the vibrant nightlife, embrace the excitement, and let loose. The song captures the desire to escape the constraints of daily life and fully immerse oneself in the exuberant energy of the party atmosphere.
