You Baby
The Ronettes Lyrics

You know I've been wanting you
My whole life through
And now that you're my guy
I'm gonna live and die for only you
Baby, baby now you're gonna know
All the ways I plan to thrill you so
You're gonna see
There's a lifetime love in me
Just for
You, baby
You, baby
Ooh, baby
Just for you
Woah-oh, only you

Could have made me wait this long
Wanting your kiss
But now you're really mine
I'll make up for the time you've made us miss

Baby, baby, now that it's all right
I'm gonna hug and kiss you every night
You're gonna see
That I saved all the love in me
Just for

You, baby
You, baby
Ooh, baby
Just for you
Woah-oh, only you

You, baby
You, baby
Ooh, baby
Just for you
Woah-oh, only you
Oh

You, baby
You, baby
Ooh, baby
Just for you
Woah-oh, only you
Oh

You, baby
You, baby

I've finally heard this original after years of only ever being aware of The Lovin' Spoonful's equally good cover.

When I was a teen-ager I played a guessing game with myself, when I heard a record on AM radio I secretly predicted how well it would do on Billboard's Top 100 chart...
With "You Baby" I was sure it would make the Top 10 with no problem, BOY! was I wrong, it didn't even make the Top 100*...
For me the Ronettes had four of the greatest records ever recorded by a girl group; "Be My Baby", "Baby' I Love You", "Do I Love You", and what I consider to be their best record ever, "Walking In The Rain"...
* Well there's some constellation, the B-side of "You Baby" was "Is This What I Get For Loving You", and it did make the Top 100, it peaked at #75 {for 2 weeks} on June 6th, 1965...

@chygwelanmeneth would have been a great follow up to Walking In the Rain.

What did you think about "Paradise"? It's definitely in my Top 5 favourite Ronettes' songs.
