1. The Room were… Read Full Bio ↴There are at least two artists which use this name:
1. The Room were formed in the late 70`s by Dave Jackson and Becky Stringer (both later of Benny Profane, Dust and The Dead Cowboys) before going through various personnel changes and splitting in 1985.
With their interesting mixture of smooth vocals (Mel Torne was a big influence), clever lyrics (at times worthy of Jackson’s hero Thomas Pynchon) and splindly yet melodic music (thin The Fall but with more emphasis on melody) the band though very much of their time were too clever to be lumped in with the Liverpool scene of the time (Bunnymen, Wah, Wild Swans etc)
Despite being a firm favourite of John Peel, the music press and having an album produced by Tom Verlaine The Room never made the commercial breakthrough their music deserved.
2.The Room are a melodic rock band hailing from the Southeast of the UK. Formed in 2010 the band finalized their line up in 2011 before starting work on a promotional single and then their debut album. Martin Wilson and Steve Anderson from progressive rock band GLD were joined by Andy Rowe, Andrew Rae and Steve Checkley.
The five band members brought together a broad range of musical influences which has helped form The Room's distinctive style. Smart songs with great melodies are the essence of the bands material with all the members involved in crafting the material.
Four highly successful launch shows were played in October 2011 to coincide with the release of the promotional single 'A Casual Believer' / 'A Multitude of Angels'. Audience reaction was superb and the band was thrilled with the response.

There will be an answer
And it grows
A fire deep in her heart
And with a certain spark
Her life's Rearranging
Coming out of the dark
She knows that life is changing.
And She sees
Something deep in his eyes
And She knows
She's broken all her ties
Now to close her eyes
At this leap of faith
Knowing She wont , no
She won't fall from grace.
And She danced all night in the pouring rain
It seems so right, yet it felt so strange
She's a refugee clutching a 4 leaf clover
As She leaves behind the lost and found
She heads home on the underground
She's a refugee clutching a 4 leaf clover.
As She walks
A winding round to her destiny
Yes She knows
Things won't be the same
But with clarity
She see things they are changing
Reaching up to the light
The Darkness is now fading.
And She danced all night in the pouring rain
It seems so right, yet it felt so strange
She's a refugee clutching a 4 leaf clover
As She leaves behind the lost and found
She heads home on the underground
She's a refugee clutching a 4 leaf clover.
And She feels
Her life bloods Intensity
And Cries I'm not the one to blame
And with a certain spark
Her life's rearraigning
Coming out of the dark
She knows that life is changing.
And She danced all night in the pouring rain
It seems so right, yet it felt so strange
She's a refugee clutching a 4 leaf clover
As She leaves behind the lost and found
She heads home on the underground
She's a refugee clutching a 4 leaf clover.
You can see it in her eyes
The Calling The Calling
Keep your eyes on the prize
The Calling The Calling
You can see it in her eyes
And Know the Big Surprise, Surprise!
Now she sees the wonder of this freedom
As she cries I'm not the one to blame
And with a certain spark
Her life's reignited
And with a certain Spark
This love will fan the flame.
And She knows
She has found the answer
Just let it Grow
And things won't be the same
And with a certain spark
Her life's Reignited
And with a certain
This love will fan the flames The Flames.
The lyrics to The Room's song "Clover" tell a story of transformation and growth. The singer, referred to as "she," is aware that there will be an answer to her struggles and dreams. She feels a fire deep within her heart and senses a certain spark that is rearranging her life and bringing her out of the darkness. She embraces the changes happening around her and understands that life is constantly evolving.
In the second verse, "she" sees something profound in someone's eyes, which leads her to break free from the ties that held her back. Despite the uncertainty, she takes a leap of faith and decides not to fall from grace. She dances all night in the pouring rain, an act that feels both right and strange. As she leaves behind the lost and found, she carries a four-leaf clover, symbolizing hope and luck, as she navigates her journey as a "refugee," seeking a new path in life.
As "she" continues walking towards her destiny, knowing that things won't be the same, she embraces the clarity that comes with change. Darkness fades away, and she can feel her life's intensity. Although she cries and denies being the one to blame, she understands that her life is being rearranged with a certain spark. She dances in the rain once again, now with a stronger sense of empowerment and a renewed flame of love.
The lyrics suggest that "she" has found the answer she was looking for, and she allows it to grow. Her life is reignited, and love becomes the catalyst that fans the flames of transformation. Ultimately, "she" knows that things won't be the same and understands that embracing change and following her true calling will lead her to a big surprise.
