Zoveelste gele kaart
The Rudolfs ontstond in 2003 uit een groepje hangtuig. Letterlijk. De vijf gasten werden na de zoveelste gele kaart op de middelbare school in een muzieklokaal getrapt om ze maar van de straat te houden. Dat de rock-band een aantal jaren later op de grootste podia in Nederland zou spelen had zelfs de conciërge niet durven dromen…
De Rudolfjes, zoals ze tegenwoordig liefkozend genoemd worden, danken hun invloeden vooral uit de sixties en 90-ties. “Vanuit thuis kregen we bands als The Beatles en Doors mee. Zelf waren we gek van Sonic Youth en Nirvana in die tijd. Dat samen vormt wel de basis voor ons geluid”, aldus zanger Leo. Al snel maakt de band naam in de regio door energieke live-optredens, vaak al crowdsurfend door de zaal. Niet veel later wint de band verschillende popprijzen waaronder de Grote Prijs van Zuid Holland in 2007 en is de naam definitief gevestigd. De band speelt voor duizenden mensen op festivals als Bevrijdingsfestival, Gentse Feesten (BE), Metropolis en Werfpop. Ook clubzalen als LVC, het Paard en de Paap nodigen de band uit voor hun knallende rockshow.

Streets of Glass
Eind 2009 werd er getekend bij het Amsterdamse label Cool Buzz en het debuutalbum opgenomen in de Yland Studio (Alamo Race Track, Voicst). Onder leiding van producer Mischa den Haring (The Death Letters, T-99) dook de band een maand de studio in en werd een spannend rock-album opgenomen met 14 liedjes. Over de ambities voor de toekomst is zanger Leo duidelijk “Spelen! Rocken tot we er bij neer vallen…Het liefst zouden we morgen onze banen opzeggen om voor eeuwig de tourbus in te duiken. Elk optreden is voor ons, en hopelijk ook voor het publiek, een feestje”.
