3) The Sea is a two-piece indie band from London, England, consisting of Peter and Alex Chisolm. They have 2 singles out and are planning to release a 3rd one in November of 2008. Their Myspace is located here.
4) The Sea were formed in the late 80's coming from the same SE London scene that spawned the likes of Ruff Ruff and Ready, Back to The Planet, Dave Howard Singers, RDF, Senser, One Style MDV, Dread Messiah, Showpan - all bands regulary living, rehearsing and performing in the infamous Dole House in Peckham. The Sea also largely lived and worked in the near-mythical Dew Drop Inn in Fordham Park, New Cross. The members of The Sea played a big part in the organisation of the Deptford Urban Free Festivals that ran annually between 1990 and 1996 under the banner "You Can't Kill The Spirit!" Indeed it was through The Sea's own record label Carp Records that the festival released its compilation CD featuring the likes of Senser, Fun-Da-Mental, Back to the Planet and Sidi Buo Said. The line-up changed a few times, but the "classic" line-up that most people knew was brothers Sam Raine (vocals) & Ben Raine (aka Dr Eileen Banana), James Corner on drums, Bevin Burke on Bass, Dr Rat McShit (Matt) on Squezebox and keyboardist Eugene (Huge-Jeans) McCarthy. http://www.myspace.com/the.sea
Can You Feel
The Sea Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Hate the fact I can't replace you
Baby, I know you don't miss me
Hate the fact that you're not with me
When I had you I felt perfect
Now you're gone, I feel so worthless
Had your heart, took you for granted
What you've done, you left me damaged
Died inside when you were leaving
Can't believe I lost your loving
All of me to you meant nothing
The lyrics of The Sea's song "Can You Feel" express a deep sense of longing, regret, and heartbreak. The singer is filled with conflicting emotions towards someone they used to be in a relationship with. They admit to wishing they could hate this person but cannot, which reveals the lingering attachment and love they still hold. The line "Hate the fact I can't replace you" implies that the singer is aware that they cannot find anyone to fill the void left by their former partner.
The lyrics also convey a sense of self-criticism and self-deprecation. The singer acknowledges that they took their partner for granted when they had them and now feel worthless without them. This highlights a realization of past mistakes and a deep desire to have another chance. The line "What you've done, you left me damaged" shows the emotional impact of the breakup, and the subsequent lines emphasize the loss and devastation that has occurred.
The chorus, "Shattered my heart into pieces, died inside when you were leaving," expresses the intense pain and suffering caused by the end of the relationship. The singer's disbelief at having lost their former partner's love is evident in the line "Can't believe I lost your loving, all of me to you meant nothing." It reveals a feeling of betrayal and abandonment, emphasizing how this loss has left them feeling empty and insignificant.

I trust scientists more than I trust businessmen.
I think they, generally speaking, have a healthy respect for nature.
I would be one to venture that you'd be okay.
We'll need scientists, such as your future self, so don't allow this idiot to stop you.
Keep going.
