[1] The Seconds are… Read Full Bio ↴There are at least two bands called The Seconds:
[1] The Seconds are a noise-rock trio. The trio consists of Brian Chase (Yeah Yeah Yeahs), Jeannie Kwon & Zachary Lehroff (Ex-Models). To date they have only released two commercial albums; 2006's Kratitudes and their debut album Y, both released on released on the Olympia, WA based label 5RC. Kratitude is notable for featuring a dissonant cover of a Shirelles song.
[2] The Seconds are an Indie/Folk Band, Formed in Staten Island, NY consisting of John Disalvo on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, Joey Picciotto on drums and glockenspiel, Joe Pecora on Lead guitar and vocals and Mike Mcdonnell on bass guitar.
They formed one summer when local singer/songwriter John Disalvo (aka The John) put together a one-day-only band for a music festival in 2008. They introduced themselves to each other on that stage and played what they thought would dissipate immediately. However, they have played consistently ever since around the tri-state area everywhere from coffee shops and restaurants to bars and venues.
Over the past year The Seconds have been featured at NYC'S Webster hall, and their blue collar anthem "Garbage man" has been played on NYC radio station WRXP as well as their Anti-folk inspired single "Spring Forward." Both songs are on their recently released LP "Slip Away," now available on iTunes and CDBaby.

The Seconds Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
To the ones who have tried
Waking up the shallow
Won't forget that tomorrow's
Judgment day
Or as some might say
It's the hearts we've made
The hearts we'll take
To Crash the place
To Crash the place
To Crash the place
To Crash the place
To Crash the place
To Crash the place
To Crash this Fucking place
If Could I create myself anew
I wouldn't dare to fail pleasing you
It's not up to me to make you see
You're undermining the truth it seems
Speak up now
Or forever hold your tongue
We ain't that type to be
Screaming out our lungs on
Judgment day
Or as some might say
It's the hearts we've made
The hearts we'll take
To break and crash the place
If Could I create myself anew
I wouldn't dare to fail pleasing you
It's not up to me to make you see
You're undermining the truth it seems
Say goodbye
Say goodbye
Say goodbye
Say goodbye
Say goodbye
Say goodbye
Say goodbye
Say goodbye
Say goodbye
Say goodbye
Say goodbye for now
The Seconds’ song Say is a powerful and intense piece that elicits strong emotions from its listeners. The lyrics express a sense of closure and finality, urging the listener to let go of failed relationships and move on. The phrase “say goodbye” is repeated throughout the song to emphasize the importance of letting go. The lines “to the ones who have tried” suggest that the singer is addressing his or her former partners, thanking them for their efforts but acknowledging that their relationship has come to an end.
The lyrics also reference a sense of impending judgment or reckoning. The line “tomorrow’s judgment day” implies that the singer is aware of consequences that may arise from their actions, yet they are still willing to take risks and “break and crash the place.” The chorus, “it’s the hearts we’ve made, the hearts we’ll take, to break and crash the place,” further underscores this message of taking responsibility for one’s own actions.
The song ends with another repetition of “say goodbye,” emphasizing the importance of closure and the need to move on from past relationships. The overall message of the song is one of empowerment, urging the listener to take action and make changes in their life, regardless of potential consequences.

Você me venceu no meu próprio maldito jogo
Você empurra e empurra e eu estou me afastando
Se afastando de você
Eu dou e eu dou e eu dou e você recebe, dou e você recebe
Sangue Jovem
Sim, ooh ooh ooh
Sangue Jovem
Porque eu preciso disso, sim, eu preciso disso
Todo o tempo
Sim, ooh ooh ooh
Sim, ooh ooh ooh
Sangue Jovem
Porque eu preciso disso, sim, eu preciso disso
Todo o tempo
Sim, ooh ooh ooh
Você empurra e empurra e eu estou me afastando
Se afastando de você
Eu dou e eu dou e eu dou e você recebe, dou e você recebe
Você está correndo e eu estou fugindo
Fugindo de você, de você
Sangue Jovem
Sim, ooh ooh ooh
Sangue Jovem
Porque eu preciso disso, sim, eu preciso disso
Todo o tempo
Sim, ooh ooh ooh
Você empurra e empurra e eu estou me afastando
Se afastando de você
Eu dou e eu dou e eu dou e você recebe, dou e você recebe
Sangue Jovem
