I can especially hear that because once I did a midsummer night's dream set in the 50s (all the original dialogue but costumes and set and design stuff inspired by the 50s) and we used this for an opening montage which started with puck pretending to start this playing in a jukebox. That opening montage is one of my most treasured memories, if I could relive one pre covid day, it would be that first show day

This was my parent's "song". I helped set up their first computer, and Mom asked to hear this song via the internet. She beamed with happiness and started singing Sh-boom sh-boom like it was 50yrs ago. Dad is gone now, but Mom keeps that sweet smile of youth with her at all times. She is the foundation of our family. My parents met during a special time here on earth. Our nation was recovering from WWII and now the Korean War. But my parents grew up in the same city, in the same neighborhood, but didn't finally meet until they were teenagers and looking for that "someone". They spent their entire adult lives together. Their differences cemented the foundation of our family, now numbering in the 30's. Special salute to all of you who enjoyed life during the 40's and 50's.

I was away at camp the summer of 1954, my age was in the single number the counselors, who were college age had a portable radio, the kind that still had vacuum tubes not transistors yet, Sh-Boom by the Crew Cuts was played on the radio and they were clearly excited by it, telling everyone to listen to this song. I too thought it was New and different. I been playing and performing rock ,folk,and blues for sixty years, I've played in at least a dozen bands and some of my bandmates are in the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame, perhaps it happened because of Sh-Boom, go figure!

I maintain that this is one of the first "rock 'n roll" songs, along with "Rock Around the Clock". I was 14 when I first heard this -- and it was like nothing being played on the radio at the time. Some people think Elvis (who I love) changed music. Those same people also think he was the first to record "Blue Suede Shoes". (That would be Carl Perkins). Most of these people are people who weren't even alive in 1954.
