All parts of the album Tiger and the Duke were recorded individually and each member was only able to hear the part they contributed to the album. The only member who heard the whole album during its recording process was Balling. The group released their next album Lover, the Lord Has Left Us... on May 30th, 2006.
Keith Goodwin was announced as one of the vocalists for the next album, taking on the pseudonym of 'The Penguin'.
The Sound of Animals Fighting have only performed live four times, all of which were released on a DVD, entitled "We Must Become The Change We Want To See". Three of their four shows took place in California (Anaheim, L.A., and San Diego), USA, and one in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
With the release of The Ocean And The Sun, the band issued a series of 400 masks, 100 of each of 4 designs, paired with a 7" for a limited preorder of the album. This was the first and only vinyl release and novelty item sold by the band.
In 2022 the band would be revived with a similar line-up as before, and would release the 4 track EP "APESHIT" (their first musical content in 14 years) to promote their 13 date tour across the US in January of 2023.

Another Leather Lung
The Sound of Animals Fighting Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Just so happens to be right beneath me.
This is complex, as her head drifts by.
This test is worthless.
It forms without a pattern but that's reasonable.
It forms without a pattern, without reason.
It forms without a pattern but that's reasonable.
Our friends became when there's room for their name.
This is not as strong as you thought.
In a series of cells, I'm so lucky to be a part of.
They didn't never be the same again (they will never be the same).
It won't take as long as you have.
It won't take as long as you have.
It won't be as hard as you had.
It won't be as hard as you had.
Attention, he won't be enough.
No, I don't love you.
We won't be enough.
(Don't let it get away)
Don't let it take the stage.
Don't let it take the stage.
The lyrics to The Sound of Animals Fighting's song Another Leather Lung are open to interpretation, but overall they paint a picture of madness, complexity, and uncertainty. The first verse refers to a descent into madness that is happening right beneath the singer. The second verse suggests that there is some kind of test or challenge that lacks pattern or reason but is still reasonable. The chorus reassures the listener that things won't be as difficult or time-consuming as initially thought. Finally, the bridge expresses a sense of dissatisfaction with attention and love, cautioning against letting something take center stage.
Perhaps the song is a reflection on the confusing nature of life and the challenges that come with it. The descent into madness and the lack of pattern could signify the feeling of losing control in a chaotic world. The reassurances in the chorus could represent a coping mechanism or a desire to find meaning in the seemingly meaningless. The final lines of the song, urging the listener not to let something take the stage, could be a warning against being consumed by one's own passions or desires.
Overall, Another Leather Lung is an intriguing piece of music that leaves room for interpretation and reflection. The imagery and themes presented are both complex and relatable, making it a valuable addition to The Sound of Animals Fighting's collection.
