The Southland's song Aftermath is about a person who dreams of flying with the stars, represented by the beautiful night sky and the shining constellations. The song starts with the lyrics, "I had a beautiful dream of flying over the colors of the morning sky." The dreamer flies high while holding onto the tail of a shooting star, enjoying the breathtaking view from above. The shooting star represents hope, and the dreamer is entranced by its beauty and grace.
As the song progresses, we see the dreamer reminiscing about the shooting star and how it made them feel. The lyrics, "My heart is filled with beautiful memories even when I look at the sky," suggest that the dreamer has not forgotten the star and its significance in their life. They remember the star with fondness and cherish the memories associated with it.
The song ends with the dreamer questioning why they cry when they look at the sky. They wonder if it's because they know they can never reach the stars again or if it's because they are sad about forgetting the people and places they left behind. The song is a beautiful reflection on the transience of life and the importance of cherishing memories and experiences.
