1) a three-member folk-rock band from the UK.
Emily, Jessica, and Camilla Staveley-Taylor have been making music together since they were children, growing up in Watford, UK, England. Brought up in a house that echoed to the sounds of Simon & Garfunkel, Crosby, Stills & Nash and The Beatles, singing in perfect 3-part harmony came naturally to these three sisters.Having started gigging in local pubs and cafes, The Staves are now captivating audiences on much bigger stages - earning rapturous encores with their exquisite songs of love & longing. Guaranteed to give you goosebumps, their extraordinary intertwining voices melt the most cynical of hearts. The Staves' Mexico EP will be released later this year via Atlantic Records.

2) a baroque pop band from NYC.
"Simple, yet intellectually challenging. Gloomy, yet beautiful. Artistically sophisticated, yet starkly presented...." (Indie-music.com)
"There are very few artists that consistently give me goosebumps. New York's Soren Anders [of The Staves] positively fits within this elite category. Over the last year, his stunning vocals and heartbreakingly beautiful melodies have won me over in a major way...." (The Music Slut Blog)

Tired As Fuck
The Staves Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Oh, I'm tired as fuck
Dry my eyes on the back of my sleeve and do my coat up
Oh, Iβ²m tired and stuck
Oh, I'm tired as fuck
Put down the phone, put on my gloves and wish me luck
Wish me luck
Oh, I'm tired as hell
Oh, Iβ²m tired as hell
Busted bed and broken door and Iβ²m keeping to myself
Oh, I'm tired as hell
Oh, Iβ²m tired as hell
Put down the phone, put on my shoes
And wish me well
Wish me well
Never had a prayer to swallow
I'll be coming home tomorrow
Never had a prayer to follow
Iβ²ll be coming home tomorrow
When I'm tired as fuck
Oh, Iβ²m tired as fuck
Nothing no one ever can do to bring me back on
When I'm tired as fuck
Oh, I'm tired as fuck
Dry my eyes on the back of my sleeve
Just wish me luck
Wish me luck
Never had a prayer to swallow
Iβ²ll be coming home tomorrow
Never had a prayer to follow
Iβ²ll be coming home tomorrow
Never had a prayer to swallow
I'll be coming home tomorrow
Never had a prayer to follow
Iβ²ll be coming home tomorrow
The song "Tired As Fuck" by The Staves is a song that captures the feeling of complete exhaustion and not feeling like one can handle any more. The lyrics repeat the phrase "Oh, I'm tired as fuck" to emphasize the fatigue the singer is feeling. The singer then talks about drying their eyes on the back of their sleeve, putting on their coat, gloves, and shoes, indicating a desire to leave and escape from whatever is causing them to feel tired and stuck.
The phrase "never had a prayer to swallow" suggests either a lack of hope or a feeling of being unable to ask for or accept help. Despite this feeling of hopelessness, the singer expresses the desire to return home by repeating the phrase "I'll be coming home tomorrow." The repetition of this phrase suggests that the singer is clinging to the hope of being able to return home and find comfort in familiarity.
Overall, "Tired As Fuck" captures the feeling of being drained and hopeless, yet still holding onto a sliver of hope that things will get better. The song stands as a testament to the power of hope and the struggle of pushing through difficult times.

My friend is a working single mother of two, one disabled. Sheβs constantly on overtime and works her ass off. Used to walk to work, sometimes over two hours one way, in any weather. This song always makes me think of her. The women out there working tough jobs and raising children at the same time are heroes.
