One of the best pop songs ever written and composed! I was born in the late fall of 1978. My older cousin had two .45 records of You Are the One by the Sugar Bears! One was never played! She would play all of her 45 records from the 1960's and 1970's and I would play them over and over again! This is one of the songs I [played over and over again. She gave me both of the 45's. I still have them. One still has never been used at all. The one that was played all the time is good but not this pristine and clear! Thank you very much for posting and sharing this great recording! It should have been a number one hit!

I remember the first time I heard this was on the Sugar Crisp commercial and I remember begging my grandmother when we was at the grocery store to buy me a box , I took the cereal out and tied it in the grocery bag and cut the record out and I lucked out and got You Are The One ( Which I played over and over and later I got Anyone But You and they're both my favorites as well as all it collections of The Archie's . ❤😊

IMO, this is the most underrated, unjustly forgotten pop song of the early 1970s. Those lucky enough (like me) who were around when this came out know exactly what I'm talking about.

Wow, this is great! I heard a snippet of this song from the Super Sugar Crisp commercial that offered it as a back-of-the-box record freebie in '71 or so, but this is the first time I've heard the complete song. Superb brass, percussion and vocals and talented songwriting by Baker Knight should have charted it higher than #51 on Billboard, but I guess cartoon bands like the Archies and Josie & the Pussycats were cornering the market. Thanks for bringing this back!
