Talk To Me
The Sunglows Lyrics

Talk to me
Oh I love the things you say
Talk to me
Talk to me
In your own
Sweet gentle way
Let me hear
Tell me dear
Tell me oh
You love me so
Talk to me
Talk to me
Tell me what
I want to know
The many ways
You speak of love
I've heard before
But it sounds so good
Everytime
Please say the one part
I love once more
Talk to me
Talk to me
Hold me close
Whisper low
Talk to me
Baby can't you see
Oh darlin' I
I love you so
The Sunglows's song Talk To Me is a beautiful exploration of the power of communication in relationships. The singer is besotted with his lover and craves nothing more than to hear them speak to him in their own sweet, gentle way. The simple repetition of the phrase "talk to me" emphasizes the importance of communication for maintaining a strong and healthy relationship. The singer is eager to hear his lover express their love for him, saying "tell me oh, you love me so" and "tell me what I want to know." He has heard the many ways that love can be expressed, but when it comes from this particular person, it sounds so good every time. He begs his lover to repeat the phrase "I love you" once more, underscoring just how much those three little words mean to him.
The beauty of this song is not just in its lyrics, but also in the simplicity of its melody and arrangement. The gentle, swaying rhythm and subtle guitar accompaniment create an intimate atmosphere, as if the singer is whispering these words to his lover in a quiet moment alone. The Sunglows's performance is heartfelt and genuine, further emphasizing the sincerity of the lyrics.

This song brings back such great memories as a kid. To this day, as soon as I hear the opening descending strings, (landing on the D aug, I think) I just have to listen to this piece in it's entirety... no matter what I may be doing at the moment. It just grabs me in. Great stuff!

My dad passed away about two years ago. And one of the fondest memories I have is of him and my mom dancing to this song together.
He loves that woman so much, even when his memory began to fade, he could still remember the day they met. His face would light up, and for a moment I forgot that he had early onset dementia worsened by a fall. For a moment he was 50 years younger, seeing the love of his life for the first time again.
Daniel Olivo, I love and miss you dad.
