Through all your promises
your broken promises,
I’ve waited long enough.
You can’t reach me.
Through all your promises,
your broken promises,
now there’s nothing left
you can teach me.

Hold tight
to me
I’d hate to see you slipping...
see your pride ripping

I see through your lies,
your dirty alibis.
Not at your beck and call.
Can’t wait to watch you fall.
Watch you fall.

I can’t wait to watch you
fall.
Watch you fall.
Watch you fall.
I can’t wait to watch you...
Can’t wait to watch you
Can’t wait to watch you.

Through all your push and pull,
silly parlor games,
finally found the boy
behind the mystery man.

All your push and pull,
times you never changed,
it’s time to drop the mask,
live up to your name.

Hold tight
to me.
I’d hate to see you slipping...
see your pride.

I see through your lies,
your dirty alibis.
Not at your beck and call.
Can’t wait to watch you fall.
Watch you fall.

I can’t wait to watch you
fall.
Watch you fall.
Watch you fall.
I can’t wait to watch you...

Can’t wait to watch you.
Can’t wait to watch you.

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of The Sweetest Condition's "Watch You Fall" convey a sense of betrayal and disappointment in a person who has repeatedly broken their promises. The singer has grown tired of waiting for this person to change and has decided to distance themselves, as they no longer have anything to learn from them. The song's chorus repeats the phrase "Watch you fall" multiple times, emphasizing the singer's desire to witness this person's downfall and take pleasure in their misfortune.

Throughout the verses, the singer appears to have seen through this person's lies and games, recognizing that they wore a mask of mystery rather than being true to themselves. Despite being held back by the person's manipulations, the singer refuses to be at their beck and call any longer. Instead, they intend to stand by and wait for this person's inevitable downfall, perhaps as a way of finding closure and moving on with their lives.

Overall, "Watch You Fall" is a song that channels feelings of anger and frustration into a powerful statement about taking control of one's life and leaving behind toxic relationships. It's possible to read the song as a reflection of the music industry or other types of power dynamics in which people are used and discarded for someone else's gain. However, its universal themes of betrayal and resilience make it a relatable anthem for anyone who has been in a similar situation.

About “Watch You Fall” by The Sweetest Condition (Edge of the World 2015)

Track No. 10, “Watch You Fall,” off The Sweetest Condition’s debut album, “Edge of the World,” is where it all began. This was the first electropop/industrial hybrid track we wrote back in 2010 as an experiment in returning to our darker musical roots. The aggressive anti-love song ignited our drive to launch The Sweetest Condition in 2012. “Watch You Fall” is a quintessential track from the album, and has evolved into a fan favorite.

“Of the 11 tracks on the album that test the boundaries of rhythmic, just finely-brushed synthpop, ‘Watch You Fall’ is still the best.” —Danny Quetin, Dark Entries Online Music Magazine, Album Review: Synth Pop / Electro Pop, Rating: 6.5/10 Stars, Belgium, Jan. 22, 2016, http://www.darkentries.be/.../the-sweetest-condition.../

“It’s almost Eurythmics with an EBM beat.” —Didier Becu, Peek-A-Boo Music Magazine, Belgium, Jan. 15, 2016, http://www.peek-a-boo-magazine.be/.../the-sweetest.../

“‘Watch You Fall’ is a great song in the genre.” —Inferno Sound Diaries, Side-Line Music Magazine, Album Review: Genre/Influences: Pop, Rock-Pop, Indie-Pop, Belgium, Feb. 7, 2016, http://www.side-line.com/the-sweetest-condition-edge-of.../
