In 2002, the group signed with Flicker Records, which is owned by members of Audio Adrenaline, and changed their name to The Swift. They released their self-titled album later that year.
After a debut that brought them moderate success, The Swift then released their second album entitled Today. Early 2004 brought about a line-up change. Guitarist Chris Byers decided to leave the band and was replaced by Justin Sharbono (formerly of Superchic[k] fame).
After only seven months with the band, guitarist Sharbono left the band to pursue other interests. In order to fill the void, the band decided to reach back into their hometown and added guitarist Matt Wilder (also from Zaccheus Tree) to the roster in December, 2004. Drummer Trae Drose announced his decision to leave the band in May of 2006. He was replaced by Guy Lemon. The band released an independent worship EP before leaving Flicker Records to sign with Michael W. Smith's Rocket Town Records. A new album is scheduled for release in October of 2006.
Come On

You found a room to rent
And ashed your cigarette
I guess it's time to quit
They all say it's time to quit
Heard it from everyone you met
So you
Lookin' for time to rest
An' lookin' so upset
Thought what a mess this is
Every party ends like this
So long
Your friends have come and gone
It's just the road you're on
Your friends have come and gone
Your friends have come and gone
But you
Caught talkin' to yourself
About your mental health
The books upon your shelf
Have lives amongst themselves
Gettin' back home, in bed by twelve
So long
Your friends have come and gone
It's just the road you're on
Your friends have come and gone
It's just the road you're on
Your friends have come and gone
Your friends have come and gone
So long
Your friends have come and gone
It's just the road you're on
Your friends have come and gone
Your friends have come and gone
The lyrics to "Come On" by The Swift encourage listeners to embrace their fears and take action, because we only have so much time to make an impact. The repeated phrase "come on" serves as a motivational call to action, urging us to push past our doubts and take risks. The song suggests that we already know the difference between right and wrong, so we just need to have confidence in ourselves and act accordingly.
The first verse acknowledges the fear that can hold us back: "I know you're scared, and you don't feel prepared, but I'll be there coaching you on." The second verse emphasizes that we shouldn't wait for the perfect moment to take action, because time is fleeting: "So don't you wait or it might be too late, 'cause we're here for a day then we're gone." The final verse reinforces the idea that we are equipped to take risks and make a difference: "You know it backwards and forward, so let it fly. I know you're scared, but you're more than prepared and I'll be here leading you on."
In essence, "Come On" encourages listeners to take a leap of faith and pursue their goals, because we are all capable of making meaningful contributions to the world. Through its simple yet powerful lyrics and upbeat rhythm, the song inspires listeners to seize the day and live with purpose.

"Come Back... Be Here"
You said it in a simple way
4 AM, the second day
How strange that I don't know you at all
Stumbled through the long goodbye
One last kiss, then catch your flight
Right when I was just about to fall
I told myself, "Don't get attached,"
But in my mind I play it back
Spinning faster than the plane that took you
And this is when the feeling sinks in
I don't wanna miss you like this
Come back... be here, come back... be here
I guess you're in New York today
I don't wanna need you this way
Come back... be here, come back... be here
The delicate beginning rush
The feeling you can know so much
Without knowing anything at all
And now that I can put this down
If I had known what I know now
I never would have played so nonchalant
Taxi cabs and busy streets
That never bring you back to me
I can't help but wish you took me with you
And this is when the feeling sinks in
I don't wanna miss you like this
Come back... be here, come back... be here
I guess you're in London today
And I don't wanna need you this way
Come back... be here, come back... be here
This is falling in love in the cruelest way
This is falling for you when you are worlds away
New York... be here
But you're in London and I break down
'Cause it's not fair that you're not around
This is when the feeling sinks in
I don't wanna miss you like this
Come back... be here, come back... be here
I guess you're in New York today
And I don't wanna need you this way
Come back... be here, come back... be here
I don't wanna miss you like this
Come back... be here
Come back... be here
