Blessed are you, God of compassion and mercy,
to you be praise and glory forever.
In the darkness of our sin,
your light breaks forth like the dawn
and your healing springs up for deliverance.
As we rejoice in the gift of your saving help,
sustain us with your bountiful Spirit
and open our lips to sing your praise.
Blessed be God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Blessed be God forever.
The night has passed, and the day lies open before us;
let us pray with one heart and mind.
As we rejoice in the gift of this new day,
so may the light of your presence, O God,
set our hearts on fire with love for you;
now and forever.
Amen.

What a masterpiece. I'm from Roma, he was born not far from here. Nobody knows about this guy here today, unless you're a musician/composer. We've lost our own culture

+Massimiliano Calabrese Babusci Very true! I am quite privileged to know of Palestrina through my years at St. Michael's Choir School in Toronto during which the choirs sang many of his pieces.

Really? Thats quite shocking to hear. This has to be the best version, not too fast, contemplative...
@pasquino0733
ps I have images of Correggio's glorious dome at Parma Cathedral listening to this!

I am fortunate of being able to hear these masterpieces during every Solemn Latin Mass

This was last sung at the Papal Coronation of Paul VI. Or am I wrong?
@danadavison1290
Never take this for granted.

Where do you go to mass - that they're using THIS mass at every mass!?
