When starting to make musich in 1976, the four band members Robert Bauer, Uwe Schneider, Jörg Treptow and Michael Uhlich were 12-14 years old and by that the youngest successful artists in Germany.
After splitting up in 1982, the Teens had a comeback in 1996, re-recording some of their singles and creating some new. After that year, several members were replaced, and in 2002 the last of the Teens was seen on TV.

Until I met you
You gave me something straight from the heart
That's why I love you
Now I've heard stories behind my back
That you've found somebody new
So you must tell me straight from the heart
Here I stand - here I stand
With my heart and my soul in your hands
Here I stand - here I stand
With my heart and my soul in your hands
We'll meet tomorrow - after school
In our usual place
What's that I see - tears on your face
Don't you know I love you
Here I stand - here I stand
With my heart and my soul in your hands
Here I stand - here I stand
Here I stand - here I stand
The Teens' song, "Here I Stand," is about a love that has been betrayed. The singer is confessing that they have never loved just one girl until they met their significant other, who gave them something straight from the heart. However, the singer has heard stories that their partner has found somebody new, and they are pleading for them to tell them the truth straight from the heart.
The chorus, "Here I stand - here I stand with my heart and my soul in your hands," emphasizes the vulnerability and helplessness the singer feels in this situation. They love their partner and have given them everything, and now their partner holds their heart and soul in their hands. The second verse describes a meeting after school in their usual place, where tears are seen on their partner's face, with the singer questioning whether they know they are loved.
The song is a plea for honesty and transparency in a relationship, and the fear of losing someone you love. It speaks to the universal human experience of the fragility of love and the importance of communication in maintaining it.
