The Tribe Lyrics

A wandering man
At the bottom of a hill
He said
When you get older
Time
It don’t stand still
Young boy
You know I
Walked that road before
Oh
I see myself in you
Once again
Said son
Take my advice
You know I
Learned a thing or two
Be brave
Get out of your way
Don’t fear the fray
Cause I know
How the story goes
I see myself in you
Once again
I see myself in you
Once again
In the song "Once Again" by The Tribe, the lyrics describe a poignant interaction between a young boy and an older man. The older man, who is described as a "wandering man" at the bottom of a hill, imparts wisdom to the young boy. The man reflects on the passing of time as he tells the boy that as one grows older, time does not stand still. This sets the tone for the song's theme of passing wisdom and lessons learned from one generation to the next.
The older man warns the young boy not to waste his youth, as he himself has walked a similar path before. Despite the differences in their ages and experiences, the older man sees a reflection of himself in the young boy. This connection highlights the cyclical nature of life and the commonality of human experiences across different ages and stages of life. The repetition of the phrase "I see myself in you, Once again" underscores the idea of shared experiences and the passing down of knowledge and advice.
The older man continues to offer guidance to the young boy, advising him to be brave and to not let fear hold him back. He encourages the boy to "get out of [his] way" and to not be afraid of facing challenges and obstacles. Through his words, the older man imparts the importance of courage and resilience in navigating life's journey. The message of overcoming fears and embracing challenges is a universal theme that resonates with listeners of all ages.
The lyrics of "Once Again" by The Tribe capture a poignant moment of connection and mentorship between generations. The older man's words serve as a reminder of the wisdom that can be gained from those who have come before us. The song conveys a sense of empathy and understanding as the older man sees a reflection of his own struggles and experiences in the young boy. Ultimately, the message of the song is one of learning from the past, embracing bravery, and recognizing the common threads that connect us through the passage of time.
